Not all Doorman will let youngters in under age. However, I did get told that one I used to work with, has a penchant for 16yr olds. Sad thing for me was, it was no supprise. Nothing in that job does to be honest. I just took solace in the fact that I am of sound character.

I will check any ID and be harsh over it. Some just take the piss and think your an idiot. Favourite thrase would be along the lines of "oh come on mate, does she look like she is under age" Many who think with their wotsits, fall for it!

i've been IDed several times for getting a drink at a resturant.. or getting into a bar or club.. or etc..

yet i see some of these damn 14 year olds smoothtalk their way in somehow.... serious 14 freaking years old

And i always thought it were odd enough for my youngest sister keep getting ID'ed when she were 26...Yes she looked younger but not that young...She had even been refused the sale of Hair spray...

I had been with her at the time and they would not even take my word that she is well over the legal age to but Anything that were restricted..And im 37 !

It were mainly the local super markets checkouts.. Sometimes a little common sence is required...

It's simple really. The bar owners see's money. Young pretty girls attract horny men and horny men spend lots of money to buy drinks to the pretty young girls as well as themselves.

Of course owners with some integrity doesn't do this but those that only care about making as much money as possible won't have any regrets about doing this. They will end up biting their own tail eventually, either because the authorities find out about it or the more mature people stop going there because it's just filled with kids.. but up until that they make loads of money.

don't really care if I have to show ID. I always carry it with me and I am of legal age.. So it's no problem at all.

Two aspects to checking an older blokes ID are seeing where they originate from. This is usually done when a big sporting event is on or just because some random small group of four blokes say, increases in numbers every few minutes.

The second is picking up on Neshi's point, why would you care. We look at it from the angle that they may have been ejected from somewhere else for example.

I used to get ID'ed all the time when i'd just turned 18 over here for Cigarettes and Alcohol, But a lot of the places i go to now have the same staff and they know me so they serve me without my id if their boss isn't around (I always carry it with me anyway, I use my Driving License and there's no way in hell i'm leaving home without that)

I even managed to buy some smokes at the local petrol station without getting ID'ed even though i was on camera, I actually had to make the woman check my ID so she didn't get fired
