Are you kidding me? Epitome of laziness
I love going out to get gasoline for my car, because every time my tank runs low it's a new adventure with the exact same story as last time.
Why can't gas stations have the goddamn decency to let people know when their pumps are out of gas? Is it really that fucking hard to display a message on the actual pump screen or even the LCD monitor above the pump playing shit no one even watches? All you need to say is "Out of Regular" or something else as simple as that. Really difficult, assholes. It happens all the time in this general area, which has a pretty large population for a suburb. I look like a complete tool-factory trying to fuel up at one pump, only to realize it's out of gas. So I drive to the next pump, only to have the same thing happen. Great, so now my card is locked and won't work. I go inside, wait in line, tell the cashier politely (thankfully I'm a polite and patient person) that they need to stop being lazy and let customers know before they start trying to pump. This might seem like such an obscure and minor issue to some, but I don't give a shit. It's the principle of it. Oh, and not to mention my nazi brother was in the car giving me shit as usual; that certainly didn't help.

Are you in the US?
I'm in Canada. That has never happened to me. Also, when you trigger the pump outside, it rings inside and the person at the cashier needs to press a button to unlock the pump. If it were empty, I guess the person at the cashier would not unlock it. |

Re: Are you kidding me? Epitome of laziness
Yes, I'm in the US. I don't think I've ever noticed an unlocking of the pump by the cashier. However, I do know that they can control the pumps from inside the station. Anyways, I'd use my card for that station, take off my gas cap, actually start pumping gas for about 2 seconds. Then the pumping procedure abruptly shuts off, which means there's something wrong with many of the pumps there (and not just this one station specifically), or the pumps themselves are out of gasoline.
Why should I have to search around, starting and stopping my car to find one that works? I've even put the car in neutral and pushed it to the next one. What a pain in the ass.

Re: Are you kidding me? Epitome of laziness
I don't bother shutting off the car...
![]() And sometimes they people don't know the pumps are empty due to never being told about it... At which point they should be able to Lock out the pump from being even Carded. BTW why do people still drive around without having a full tank almost all the time.. It's horriblely bad for your vehicle to run anything below half special during winter or large and frequent temperature changes. 1: fuel pump requires good amount of fuel to keep itself cool and from burning up 2: Water in your fuel sucks, and if you run with very little fuel in the tank, the temperature changes just over night can build up condensation and results in water in your fuel. there are other reasons as well. I rarely, IF ever, have under half a tank of fuel in all my vehicles.
