What I read about the incident , they say the murders have mistaken them for robbers , even though if they were really robbers :
1. No law ,rule or even religious law say they should be killed for robbery .
2. In any cases , punishment should be handled by the court according to the laws, if we give the public the rights to punish those break the law , it will be chaos.


And the policemen who standed doing nothing is worse than the murders themselves.

You live in Greece, right? I'm sure it was common a lot longer ago there (thousands of years most likely), but I find it hard to happen that it never happened.

Here in the UK we had killings of this nature based on religious tensions during numerous periods in the last 500 years or so.

FFS, it's not like the only copy left in the world was burned. In that case I would understand the anger, perhaps, perhaps even a killing or two, but 40 kills for this?

Stories like that are the only times I wish there was some Bible thumping crazy redneck in the White House to stand up to these lunatics and call them out for what they are. Politically correct responses to violent ideologies are not doing anything for the modern half of the world. We've got to put them in their place, cut off trade and all relations to any Nation that encourages such violence. Let them live in the Dark Ages until they're ready to play nice.

The politically correct response to Islamic extremism, in fairness, would appear to be "invade and kill", or something along those lines.

The trouble with cutting off trade and relations with nations that encourage such violence is that it is the civilian population that will suffer most, yet it is not at fault. You must have seen the scale of anti-government feeling in Iran last year, yet they suffer for the actions of their government.

Also, it's not just rogue governments that are encouraging this. Our book burning pastor friend has probably done more for the cause of Islamic extremism than Bin Laden ever did, through the radicalisation of devout Muslims (whether or not it's an overreaction, it's still the case). Stupidity appears to encourage stupidity, in both directions.

You also have the U.S. government, amongst other western powers, that supplied arms and resources to the Taliban and Al Quadea when they were the good guys. If the west isn't very careful in Libya, for example it could end up indirectly doing the same again.

Then, of course, you have to consider that this is all the legacy of another era...

TL;DR: there's no simple cause or solution to these problems
