Look at the Alienware ads in Computer Gaming world Maximum PC. They are selling 2.4Ghz Northwood A processors in their laptops. They are not P4-M's and include no stepping, but they ARE 2.4Ghz.

Also look at alienware's website and click on the link at the bottom for their Area 51-m laptop.

This is NOT bullshit.

Lol... that clears some stuff up... but that was one helluva shock... heh...

I gotta front about the whole usage of desktop processors in laptops... (cuz now that it has hit me i feel uncomfortable about it). I used to have a PIII800m and if you put it on your lap it would over heat.... i'm pretty sure you could flip this thing upside down and fry an egg on it... man...*sigh*....

To bad they aint putting T-breds in em... woulda had me a barbeque.

Oh and on a second note... the hell is the battery life on that thing??... if its a desktop processor and doesn't have speed stepping you'd have to have a nuclear reactor attached to it to keep it running....

I hope AlienWare has a "Car Battery" option, 'cause that's what it's going to take to power one of those laptops for any length of time.

no this is ture..many have tried and what was let was a melted hole on the bottom of the laptop.

thought still they arent as fast as desktops YET
