GTA3 better than Half-Life? Are you sure? Has there been ANY game since HL that has redefined an entire genre? GTA3 is only 3d compared to GTA2...or GTA

I'm NOT sure about better than half-life, half-life had much more attention to detail IMHO and is THE masterpiece. GTA3 is just a plain, brainless, run-down the pedestrians and get in good with the mob bosses type of family-fun game.

It's too much of an apples & oranges comparison for me to make, the games are of way too different a type. Both are definately up there as a couple of "The Great Ones" for me, GTA3 just has that 'instant classic' feel to me so far which is really strange considering it's a port.

That's a tough one Malus...Dark Forces 2 was exceptionally good...but there is just something about Half-Life that felt like you were in the world itself...probably because it was a seemless in-game excursion from the get-go. If DF2 hadn't had level transition screens and cutscenes it would have bested HL no problem.
