Measuring Intelligence

How do you guys measure intelligence? By the syllable count in someone's half-assed retort to your comment about their mother's genital warts? By the phraseology used in their text? (heh...get it...a pun...nevermind) By their humor style, is a pun any fun or is satire sooo much better? By their SAT/PSAT/ACT score or GPA? Or is it all by the size of some fat loser's man titties? (more fatness equating to intelligence by the following induction: decreased need of limbic activity and increased need of number crunching carbs=more smarter and reallier fattier?)

Me, personally, I judge anyone's intelligence by their support of antidisestablishmentarianism. (That is, challenging the ideology and motives of possible governmental usurpers.) hehe.

Oh yeah, and screw the internet man! It costs too much to run a website. I think Zardon and crew could agree.

No-one can ever define human intelligence as a definite constant. Except in a role playing game of course

. I think that as human mind is the ultimate multi-purpose tool, constantly changing and adapting to the circumstances, there is no way to measure it's capabilities.

IMHO, the best way to attempt such a measurement would be to divide the concept of intelligence into a multitude of 'sub-classes' such as social intelligence (i.e. the ability to adapt to and to function in various social situations), logical intelligence, verbal intelligence etc. You've probably already heard/read about things like that if you've studied psychology in school.

The bottom line is: I don't believe in IQ-tests. Even ones that focus on one area of intelligence should be redesigned for every single subject to give results that have even the tiniest bit of thruth behind them. Even a simple test of logic in the form of mathematics relies too much on the abilities of visual perception and/or verbal comprehension to be fully accurate.

Whoa... I think I need a beer. I'm almost making sense...

Intelligence is how street smart you are, Being smart is how book smart u are. If you are book smart, but are unable to have a social life you are not intelligent. Going to school can only help u through situations, street smarts will get u through the situation. People who are only book smart are definetly not the snmartest people in the world. Nor are people who are just street smart, u need a perfect balance between thee two, which i like to call experience.

not all republicans are intelligent. i'm not going to pimp my president because i know that he's not really all there. but there is a set i.q. that differentiates what you think. different set i.q.s for different categories. if you are pro-life, your i.q. is at or above 105. if you are against gun banning, your i.q. is at or above 80. if you are against a "big brother" state, your i.q. is at or above 117. if you are republican, your i.q. is at or above 100.

I am not sure if this is completely ture but i heard that if you believe in a western religion (catholic) your i.q. will tend to be lower, than if u have no belief in religion or you believe in a eastern religion (buddhism). It kinda sounds right to me, but i dunno, I choose to believe in myself not religions, so it doesn't affect me none true or not true.

The Mensa IQ-tests are a joke. I read an article somewhere, that showed how the results depended greatly on the "applicant's" nationality (or native language probably, even though the test has been translated to many languages), social status, phase of life and so on.

Actually, I think Mensa is a joke. How intelligent does thinking that you're better than the rest sound?

Well... they say that Hitler was highly intelligent too. And yeah... there are people who talk to the walls and think that urinating on the floor is fun, but can do math better than the average calculator...

Where am I getting at? You can't measure intelligence and attempting to do it is stoopid! This whole thread is a joke! (wow, that was almost a flame

)

PS: If you're wondering, the IQ-test's I've had to participate in never gave bad results, even if the above sounded a bit bitter.

I wonder when the local "genius" starts a thread where you can compare your IQs...
