I'm sure many of you here would have visited a forum where the mods are a little arrogant and power-tripped but this one takes the case

the member in question is my sister there, a newer member on the site, and she got absolutely shafted by the moderator. That same mod already closed two other of her threads. He has also been known to be a prick to many people.
this is my reply to him, a direct posting of a thread asking him to calm down, i'll probably get banned for it but i don't really care - if he's going to keep being like that its not a place i want to stay

At DH, you can PM a mod, chat with a mod, joke with a mod and even become friends with one, regardless of how many people visit the site or use it, that makes a big difference to me.

it's probably because most mods here are 18+ . all the young kids get power hungry and seem to think that they are all-powering. mods are suppose to help people and manage the forums, not bossing people around. i could say the same with admins on cs servers LOL. i stopped playing cs a longgg time ago simply because so many damn kids are playing now. if my son were 12, i'd lock up his computer if he ever started cussing and playing the way some of these punks play. parents these days let their kids play grand theft auto when they're 6... when i was 6, i was playing super mario bros. on my super nintendo.

yea, the mods on some boards can really get out of line when they do things. having a lot of moderation experience myself though, i can see when users often think i was abusing my power when i really wasn't. i feel being a mod was always like being in the spotlight, and people looked for reasons to hate you. if you fart in the wrong direction i'm sure someone is bound to bitch about it. if i were to be a normal user and say something that someone didn't agree with, however, the other users wouldn't ride my ass. that's why i personally prefer not being a moderator anymore.

eh, yea, it's not really like that here. the primary problem with other boards i was on is that *everything* was about status. almost like military style ranks. it made things a little head to head so to speak. generally graphic card forums don't have these problems, though i have indeed seen them a few times.

dude, i am seriously sick of you bashing nvnews. there is nothing wrong with it, and you can not provide viable proof that there is any kind of foul play or "pushing around" by mods. the particular one in which you are talking about, udawg, actually recently became a mod and then resigned soon after because he felt he was spending too much time on the boards. there is no reason for you to bring site bashing and direct or indirect dirrogitory remarks against them. the mods on nvnews are nice and keep things civil. people visit there which are mods at rage3d, and people from nvnews visit here; this is proof isn't it?
