BMG_Cya=- is on a distinguished road

I had the exact same...problem.

After installing one of the Beta builds of SP2, my Windows XP Home suddenly became just Windows XP...with a Blue loading bar. I am the only user on this PC, and am the Admin...GOD...and Gold shining ass Deity from Hell on this thing.

I then installed the final SP2 using the auto update.

Fucked up every security program I had. Still haven't got NAV2003 back to where it was totally.

I un-installed SP2 and the thing actually used System Restore, which I now always Disable first thing, because in 4 previous total O/S crashes and subsequent reformats it had never worked anyway. (I guess SP2 used it's own System Restore point...I was just amazed the damn thing even worked.)

Everything runs better now...running SP1 and DX9.0c,
HDD was alreadt defragged, and my Green Windows XP Home
loading bar is back.

SP2????
I'll wait until it's a requirement to download and install it.
Like maybe the CCC that comes out....

SP2 changes your loading screent to just say "Windows" and have a blue loading bar.

I had the same problem and was really mad about it and posted my frustraitions with that(and other problems) in the forum(the support part not the flame part).

you know what I got as a response?

"deal with it"

so buddy

Deal with it

Green bar changed to blue that is sp2. If you have auto update enabled then thats how it got installed. And since you are going back to restore your restoring your computer to before sp2 got installed. Reinstall your chipset drivers then do a clean install of the cats using driver cleaner pro(make sure to update that program to through its auto update feature). Also to be on the safe side redownload the cats again.
