ATI destryoed my PC...

Okay I installed the new 4.8 drivers using Driver Cleaner and now my 3dmark03 score is up by 2.6%(good) but all my games have lost 10% in fps... And I have Windows XP Home Edition and the loading bar before the OS is loaded (when u turn on) is green normally but now it's BLUE (like professional) and every ****ing game is total lag (42 to 36 in doom3) and I have tried a ssystem resotre and no avail... I hate ATI fro messin my PC up

I did... I even went back to 4.7 bit still no avail... My PC is in hell and burning... BURNING!!!

LOL, you're computer isn't destroyed, software cannot destroy hardware. At the very worst reinstall Windows and your computer will work fine again.

You are a prime example of why a good majority of the population should be required to own Dells, HPs , Sonys and other pre-built systems.

Some day ,when you grow up, you will understand that the problem is YOU, and not the hardware/software.

In the future, you need to go by "OldBuzzard's Law": Any time that something goes wrong with my PC, the first thing I should ask is, "What did I do wrong?".

Once you have determined that you didn't do it wrong, then, and ONLY then should you place the blame on the hardware/software. Even then, you should go a site like this, describe your problems, and ask for help. To come in and start blaming the software developer, and/or the manufacturer is just childish, and show a definate lack of maturity.

If you would have posted this in another forum I might have replied differently, but YOU chose the FLAME forum, and you are getting what you deserve. Grow up, post in the PROPER forum in a less belligerent tone, and you will find that you will get the people here are best help that is available.

Sandok, Ati driver CAN'T change the home edittion loading bar from green to blue..... i can only think of possibly the SP2 that was just released.. but i highly doubt it.... possibly a update was made to your OS through the windows update.... which doesn't appear to agree.... and try to reinstall your chipset drivers for your motherboard.. (agp specifically).... check and download the latest before reinstalling....

also check your windows information... see what updates have been applied.. and what version your running.... the green to blue bar really is the interesting thing...

OldBuzzard, I am not saying it's only the driver fault... It might be a lot of stuff and everythin... I bet it's my fault I just don't know how... I did all this and NOTHING else so I'm lost here...

Anyways, I wanna get rid of my crap dell stuff (mobo case and cooler) very soon cuz now i know better... So anyways, I'll format cuz I'm gettin a mobo change but hell, this is annoying... (3dmark03 score went up by 130 but my doom3 and farcry scores went down by 10%)... So yeah... Now tell me what I did wrong?
I do this thing and restart... Load bar is green....

I install 4.8 all happy... and restart...

And i try doom and watch my FPS drop like hell but my 3dmark03 score go up like hell... Load bar is blue!

were you logged in as admin... were there any other programs running at the time of install... sounds like the registry is corrupt to some state.... you might have system restore to rely on if you want to keep your install....

i tried a system resotre and it worked but the moment I reinstalled the cat 4.8, it went haywire again....

And i have total access to the Pc, no one else

You can try a reinstall of your chipset drivers, a full uninstall and reinstall of ati's drivers, and possibly dx9. But it may just be faster for format and be done with it; and then it would likely be fixed.

Two things come to mind:

1. Try downloading the Cats again. It's possible that you have a corrupted file.

2. Double check that you got the right drivers for your OS.

Do you have HP computer? if you do HP computers don't like ati cards I know because I had HP amd 2000+ before once I had my ati8500le card and while was watching a movie my system frozzen up and never boot it up lol HP are bad system :P:

I'm pretty sure the blue loading bar is from SP2, mine was green until I rebooted after installing it.

Never boffed my computer to this extent though. Works perfectly fine for me.

I dunno if a live animal is a good idea if you can't keep the computer in working order....

A pet rock maybe??? Do they still have those?
