American Olympic Coverage...

Man, just for the hell of it... switching over to say, NBC or which ever American Station with the olympics coverage.... is rather halarious..

they play the "StereoType" roll very well...

Just recently i watched Russia vs US Volleyball, and the damn idiots... starting calling some of the russian's "saskwatches"... said this one 7 foot guy had an ugly mug.... blah blah blah, the list goes on with the number of insults and generally everything you could throw at .... They even were rediculiously stupid enough to say "Well, look at that russian, he sure plays the roll of a Russian.... "

halariously stupid.... sad... sad... sad for other US residents... how you allow this crap to be representitive..

hadn't noticed any of that, actually

usually the coverage is excellent(i onyl have seen swimming and gymnastics so far tho)

go to NBC and just listen to the annoucers on there... you can't go 30 minutes without either one or both of them saying something outright WRONG... sometimes i get better laughs outa them then some good Simpsons Episodes... i really should have hit RECORD on my AIW

the nbc coverage of the olympics is great. i've been watching it since the opening games. i watched it to enjoy the games, not try to point out every little detail about NBC to try to discredit them. i saw the 100m breaststroke event yesterday and michael phelps went from 5th place and then stormed up to the front in the last stretch to beat his teammate, ian crocker, by .04 seconds and broke his own olympic record.

the u.s. men's team is doing very well in swimming in all areas. i cant help but give phelps mad props for 7 medals (6 gold, 1 bronze) in one olympics. he's second only to mark spitz and at age 19 too. he's an awesome team player too and always congratulates his teammate ian crocker and then gives up his spot in the u.s. medley to him, which we'll probably take the gold and making phelps an 8 medal winner.

russia (#3) trails the u.s. by 13 medals. u.s. (#1) has 18 gold medals while russia only has 5.

don't worry, this is not an issue only in the US. Today I heard some comments on tv on the way an american 100m runner (forgot his name) was wearing a hat and sunglasses on the race and that this was not according to the olympic ethics. They are absolutely right, but calling him a simpleton was not very nice, was it?

All I got to say, is SCREW SWIMMING, its so boring to watch. I'd much rather watch olympic karate or boxing or the basketball games, anything else. I guess gymnastics are cool, but I think its boring to watch as well. Thats all I was able to see on NBC.... oh I saw weightlifting as well, one word again, BORING.

i watched a great share, i never heard any sort of insults like that... they have to be careful of the sue happy americans being offended ya know. im just happy i can watch such an event, as some countries cant. To support the finest athletes of the USA.
