its a retarded and far too overated. the single player and story looked like something new developers wrote, level design was interesting but i have never played a game which re-used areas that much it disgusted me. i had to stop playing the game cause i thought i was in the same area again.

its xbox, its an over-rated system, box of lies (pc in a box is the truth), halo 2 looks promising but halo 1 just feels bland and boring and many times the game is very similar which is what worries me. i hope halo 2 fixes this feeling and has more creativity, i really dont think the long wait was worth it halo 1 and the PC PORT...

god did MS take a huge shit to just take out their DX9 waste

actually first of all dont blame MS if you hate the game for xbox OR PC. First it was Bungie's fault for it sucking as a game. Then it was MS's fault for it sucking on the Xbox because it was originally designed for the mac. THEN it was Gearbox's fault for it sucking COMPLETELY on the PC. Bungie is trying to fix it but it aint happening well.

btw I know one game that reuses level parts more. Doom3

I saw a Halo 2 gameplay video (that I think was posted on here), and I must say it looks very promising. Although, the first one did too so I don't know... If they don't rewrite the netcode or something similar, AND they re-include retarded weapons such as the fuel rod gun and banshee again, the game is just going to be the same crap.

agreed... even for a pure Dedicated server.... it hogs anywere from 40-70% of the resources... cpu time... and bandwidth.....

UT Classic = 3%
Quake 1= 0%
Quake 3 = 4%
UT2003/04 = 7-14% ( usuually only during seariously intense times... but usually hovers around the 5-7 at most)

Halo = WAY TO BLOODY MUCH

i had All the above (except ut2k4) along with COD dedicated servers running.... as soon as i popped halo on... i was having troubles...

That was wrong... so wrong...

... but now that I think about it, it's true!

I did enjoy Doom 3 more than Halo 1, even though they were both lackluster.

Oh I enjoyed doom3. I still enjoy doom3. I think people are too critical of it.

the point is that halo didnt reuse level designs as much.

Halo was a good FPS while you were outside, but once the action went inside the game play went to hell. Walk from repetitive room to repetitive room and shoot. At multiple points in the game I got lost as I did not know where I came from due to the repetitive design of the interior portions of the levels.

Hopyfully Halo 2 will break the cycle of monotomy; we shall see.

doom 3 does NOT re-use backrounds, they go back and forth through the same areas like half-life. doom 3 was really boring since there was no music either and not enough story. its just something youd like to stare at cause it looks so nice.

i think PC gamers over-rate Doom 3 since
1. carmack made it
2. revolutionary graphics makes up for its poor multiplayer and boring single player
3. the sound is not amazing, no EAX support and barely any music which ive noticed hardcore FPS players dont care about, then again most hardcore FPS players i know are hardcore geeks

halo is over-rated since its on xbox, xbox has stole all its games and ported it at a higher resolution, xbox live and fit it on their terrible dreamcast ripoff of a controller

peaking/leaning happens in tons of games....i think it started with rainbow six?

doom 3 was a great game. MP sucked. sp was scary and rivetting, it made me want to finish it, not many games do.

halo also has all of like 4 enemies. woo hoo! palette shifts! they're still the same enemies.

agree with the MP sucked statement, turn every other statement around you'll get what i did with doom 3. it lieing on my hard-drive, unfinished UNLIKE most of my games, i didnt get scared once while playing with 5.1 surround and in the dark

the flood was absolutely retarded in halo, it was basically monsters from half-life. should of stuck to vs convenent
