LOL rasta! Yes! That ad really stinks. I hate when it keeps poping in the way of threads. It makes me mad to have to keep hitting the close button because it doesnt go away every time you move the mouse away from it.

The thought crossed my mind that it's most likely bringing funds in to help keep DH around, but I still dont like that stinking ad. And, I dont want Zardon to be mad at me, either, for bashing the darn ad. hehe

Moreover, I shop at Best Buy, and there are some bargain buys I get from there, sometimes. I got my Radeon 8500 from Best Buy at a good price, not long after the 8500 was released. Still, the ad is really irritating, regardless of how OK the store is. As a matter of fact, I thought about not going to Best Buy to buy anything as that stinking ad pissed me off that much, sometimes. To lose customers instead of gaining them, would be counter productive to the reason I think Best Buy is advertising ( and I think that reason is to win customers). The ad was looking OK when it doesnt pop down, and I can see it's a Best Buy ad without it poping down.

The pop down deal, really makes that stinking ad suck!

Actually im thinking now of just keeping the ad and running full page ads like rage3d and warp2search do before you get to pages just to really piss you all off. Might even put a best buy ad in every post a member makes.

Seriously I didnt know the best buy ad was running in the first place but its quite amusing to see so many panties in a wad over it.

Please feel free to continue bitching about it though, ive closed the other 40 threads about it so you can all centralise the hate in here

If you hate the ad that much then,

1. Use Mozilla and it won't expand when the cursor moves over it.
2. AVOID THE AD WITH YOUR MOUSE; MOUSE CONTROL.

3. Donate more.

Hey, I really like DH, and when I was bashing the BB ad, my intention was not to even imply or convey any thing bad about this site. I dont visit every thread, so I only knew about two threads with members talking about the BB ad.

This is really a great place! I've been coming, reading and enjoying it here for more than two years. I'm sorry if I contributed to complaints about the ad which may have disappointed Zardon. So, after reading other posts concerning the strategy to use advertisement to bring in funds to keep DH operating, I will try to be of use in this pursuit and click on 2 or 3 ads each visit. And, I visit a lot. I will truely be missing a site that has really become a part of me, if DH is discontinued.

I'm really sorry if I said something that may have alluded that I dont care about the existence of DH, because I do care very much, very much. I've been having problems with getting and keeping steady employment for a couple of years, now, but I can certainly be supportive by clicking on ads around here. So. if you all care, let's get to clicking those ads?

Guys if I sounded short I apologise, I dont mean to sound like im getting at anyone as I really do understand the issue with the bestbuy ad.

It started from the fact my ad provider asked me if I would like to run the bestbuy ad in my rotating scripts. I forgot to reply so they decided they would run it anyway. As this ad is IP targetted I didnt see it and ive been so busy with designing and Driverheaven work that I missed the thread in the feedback forum.

So I get up this morning on my day off to get several hate mails from "members" saying how much the whole deal sucks and how im a greedy selfish bastard who is ruining their whole surfing experience, then I come on here and find several threads regarding the matter.

So its partially my fault the ad was running as I forgot to reply but sometimes its nice if people would be a little more understanding and helpful rather than just spouting off all over the place about how they are going to leave the site !

Anyway this is the flame zone so please you can all feel free to call me a son of unmarried parents or whatever it takes to let the stress out, I guess its part of my job here to take the shit when things go wrong....

Incidentally if I was truly wanting maximum income id be running those full page ads ive seen on warp2search/gamespot and other sites...... you know the ones that appear when you go to a page and in the top right corner is wording like "click here to bypass the advertisement" ...

i think all the ads suck ass... but they need to be here to keep DH open... the thing i hate about them is the poor loads from the ad servers being slower than molasses in january under 10 feet of snow.... its not the ads i guess its the companys who run the servers lol

You think I like the ads either? bleh I ran without them for six months, and its fine if the site was small and traffic was low, then id remove them, but the costs in running a site like this arent $10 a month..

lol..i never much liked the bestbuy ad, but maybe that's because i run 1600x1200 on a 21" monitor and thus it never impedes my whole screen...haha
