i just moved to australia from canada, and was an avid weed smoker,,in b.c weed is basically leagal and u can get in anywhere, but here its like buying gold,

Dude, it's so good to see a fellow pot head....most of the people here should probably smoke a bowl, man. They need to do some calming down. Nah, it's not too bad here. The U.S. are notorious for having problems with drugs, and by that statement, I mean they're hard to find. I'm originally a Canuck from Otocks...not naturally born, though. I moved there with my family when I was three. I grew up smokin' bud...and it was great to be able to walk home after school and kick back with a hooter and the Nintendo. I moved back to the states(with my parents as well) when I was 15, and it sucked ass due to the fact that I couldn't smoke my B.C. Northern Lights anymore without the risk of getting busted.

It's a real buzzkill, man.

Actually, no, it doesn't. The chemicals induced by the growers after the photo-synthezation process has taken place are what hurt you. • Number of deaths(average) related to Car Crashes per year - Sixty to Seventy Thousand
• Number of deaths(average) related to being struck by lighting each year - Ten to Fifteen Thousand
• Number of deaths(average) related to smoking or the production of Marijuana each year - ZERO
• Number of deaths(average) that the smoking or production of the Marijuana plant have EVER produced - ZERO

I actually encourage EVERY SINGLE LAST ONE OF YOU to incur some information upon which there has been at least one death related to the smoking or production of Marijuana.

Do you roll your spliffs with tobacco? If you smoked weed like people smoke tobacco (not coducive to an effective, prosperous lifestyle) you'll probably suffer the same serious illnesses. The lungs are really not well designed to be dealing with impurities, whether they be organic vapour (spray paint), particulate (smoke -diesel, cigarette, wood etc.) or the myriad chemicals in tobacco and weed smoke.

The only thing black people did with it was pick it. I know it's not funny, but it's true. You actually can't get high off of hemp - It is the Cannibus Generica strain of the Marijuana Species. You can only get high off of the Cannibus Sativa or the Cannibus Indica strains due to a little bio-chemical substance called THC(or Tetrahyrdochlorides). This "chemical" reacts with your brain similar to how it reacts with adrenaline or endorphuns...your brain's got a built-in receptor for it.

First of all, you all might want to get terms straight. Now, there is are two things that can be done. Legalization, which is what you all are referring to, and then there is Decriminalization.

Legalization means that it becomes legal and is regulated by the government. So, for example, it would be taxed, controlled, and most likely require permits to sell.

Decriminalization simply takes out the illegality of it. There is no central regulation and smoking it is simply "not against the law anymore".

Now, while I do not smoke weed, I would not be against Legalizing it.
-This would put the government in more control, rather than drug dealers
-Take out criminal factor in drugs
-Create new source of revenue
-Allow government to regulate sale and purchase

Simple decriminalization, however, would no longer make it against the law, but would keep the regulation out and would keep the criminal factor.

But, I think that more strict rules should be put on....simply put..."doing stupid shit". This includes driving while high, wandering around while high, etc. Should be like alcohol...against the law to be like that out in public and definately in control of a car with severe punishments.

If you all want to do that in the privacy of your own home...then thats fine...and with government regulation, the criminal element is gone, and hopefully stricter laws would cut down on driving while high.

legalizing is the more effective manner… same with all the other recreational drugs - you'll have a government body that will regulate everything, from how the substance is manufactured (so you know what you're buying and don't get a bad trip/overdose etc)
