As for the Christian Bible, I consider it a completely defunct source (unless any of you have actually read it in Hebrew and Greek) since it's been translated and therefore coloured with the views of the translator, aside from the simple fact that actual and precise meaning rarely carries over in translation. Off that people who place so much stock in the Word of God should be so ready to accept a poor transliteration as their only source!

My legal comment on marriage of homosexual individuals:
Marriage is a guaranteed institution given by the constitutions of almost all modern nations. Therefore it would collide with the rights of everyone being equal. AS ALREADY SAID, legislative, judicative and executive are seperated from the churches (YES,THANK HIGHER MIGHTS) therefore there is no legal justification that marriage amongst two homosexual individuals shall be prohibited. OF COURSE, this means they must be regarded equal to heterosexual couples in tax affairs.

My religious comment:
If god, allah or whatever you call the primus of your religion would not want homosexuals they wouldn't even exist. In all religions with a solemn primus, god (or whatever you like to call it) has omnipotence. If I would be an onmipotent god and would hate homosexuals I could easily remove homosexuality, couldn't I. Go figure...

Aleterocker - I know she predates the Christianity (and most Orthodox Judaic tradition).
