how much will Star Wars Ep 3 suck?

This summer our fond childhood memories of Star Wars will have their remaining vestiges of dignity torn away and butchered in Multiplex cinemas across the globe... just wondering how the rest of you DH'ers feel.

It will suck yes, but it does not deserve such disrespect as to have gigli and glitter mentioned in the same sentence

I don't think it will be too bad...Hayden Christensen and the horrible CGI is what made the last one bad. The new ones won't ever do the old ones justice...but we can at least enjoy all the Jedi dying!

time to vent

I had almost rationalised The Phantom Menace in my mind... okay, you get rid of Jar-Jar (or watch The Phantom Edit), trim a few scenes, somehow justify an 8 year old being the best pilot in the galaxy...the movie does work, maybe on par with ROTJ. Liam Neeson offers a solid base to the film, Darth Maul was a badass, and the overall plot was fairly consistent with the original trilogy.

But Episode 2 was HORRIBLE. The last 20-30 minutes was mindless violence with no emotional investment in the characters. The 'missing planet' idea was obvious to my desk lamp, so why couldn't the Jedi figure it out? The CG was actually pretty weak (muddy like alot of ILM stuff) and the dialogue was very, very wooden throughout. Hayden Christensen is a good actor, but in #2 he was just a petulant baby. I pity Ewan MacGregor and Samuel L Jackson for letting their names get attached to such drivel.

I really, really hope something gets pulled out of the fire with episode 3, but with the 'leaked' scroll credits posted today online I doubt it -- the plot already sounds ridiculous. Unless this gets a 75%+ rating on Rotten Tomatoes, I'll wait for the TV broadcast. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me, fool me three times, and we burn Lucas in effigee...

I think Episode 3 is going to be a godsend of a movie.

They'll probably manage to screw up the creation of Darth Vader too.

So far, i'm just waiting to be one of the first people to get in line to watch the movie in theatres .

After it comes out on DVD, i hope they release a movie pack containing all 6 episodes . Call me an idiot for saying that, but i've enjoyed the movies so far .

meh, i liked the originals...not the edits in '97, not the dvd copy, the originals. as in old faded out tapes.

phantom menance made me want to stab myself. the only redeaming values were qui gon and the final fight.

attack of the clones was horrible. worst part was the inclusion of boba fett or his relationship w/ the clones.

i hate ani so much...i want to see Samuel L Jackson rip his head off...of course we know he's going to lose. hopefully it won't be as lame of a death as fett's in ep2. according to jackson there's going to be a long fight scene between them ranging through different floors of an appartment like building.

w/out spielburg, lucas is nothing.

btw, i voted "worse than a bruckhiemer movie" because anything else on the scale was just unfair to any movie that includes samuel L jackson.

I voted the head trauma one......Samuel Jackson, and Natalie Portman make the movie really good . Especially when Natalie shows all that skin

dont criticize a movie until you have seen it, you might actually like it, no matter what other people say or think

Its a movie, nothing more. Star Wars is does not have the same cultural signifigance it did 25 years ago, but it is still entertaining. I for one am looking forward to it. I am not a person that can name all the races and planets from the star wars universe, but I like the originals as well as 1 and 2. I just hope the fight scenes are great and they don't put in a character like JarJar, he was annoying. I say bring it on.
