Armstrong to ride in '05 Tour de France

What do you "boys across the pond" from us here in the US think of an American coming to Europe and dominating what is a predominantly European sport?

Do you like him or hate him? Do you think he is representing us as Americans well?

Who do you think has a chance against him and the Discovery Channel team this year?

American's, what do you think about all of these things?

ESPN's coverage.

Hes the man, overcoming testicular cancer and all and still domination. Quite a strong man physically and mentally.

On the other hand, there were questions about him and drug use (enhancers or something like it), or some other contraversy. I guess it is over but oh well. If he gets busted pooh on him but if not more power to him (if hes clean).

EPO is the choice for cyclists, it is different than steroids, FYI. Lance is tested extensively, along with others, 710 tests carried out under the auspices of WADA last year detected only four positive cases. Also the UCI tests regularly. But, there is no doubt that the sport has a doping problem. Every professional sport has a problem with performance enhancing drugs, to say that cycling has the biggest problem is an uninformed position to take. Just look at those exposed in baseball this past year, along with other Olympic atheletes, i.e. Marion Jones. Those are only the exposed, the drug testing in most professional sports is lax compared to cycling.

And if you could look past your narrow view of what you "see" on TV and watch and understand what is actually going on, like the strategies, team work, mind games that are played in cycling and could appreciate the stamina and endurance that these athletes have, than you might not think that way. Most people that share the kind of viewpoint you have Asmoday have never ridden more than 25 miles at a time, let alone a century in hilly terrain, which wouldn't even come close to the type of riding that these guys are doing.

Nope, hard leather, soft is bad for long distances. Hard leather in the right places is what you need for no chaffing, saddle sores, etc....

Well, for a guy who cheated on his wife, the woman who stayed with him and got him through cancer, with Sheryl Crow, he's got a pretty good public image. Personally I think he's a fucking asshole. I hope he loses, maybe even crashes his bike and breaks his leg.
