I hate to break it to you but santa doesnt exist, hes an image of a christmas spirit the shops want us to use. The "its christmas, lets buy something a bit more expensive". Christmas is really the birthday of Jesus, crap carpenter and also the sun of god

And the reason you shouldn't listen to "punk" or "goth"(your definition is probably quite different than mine) music and believe in God is because IT MAKES YOU LOOK LIKE AN IDIOT. The message behind true goth and punk music is so anti-religion, anti-establishment, anti-everything. I've noticed this trend lately - Christian "Metal" and "Punk" are getting more popular and "being goth" is as easy as walking in to Hot Topic.

I think you got your laurels mixed-up bud - because if you understood the message behind this style of music, grew up listening to it, or believe in any part of it, you'll have some sort of indifference towards God. It's just the nature of that lifestyle.

Some people stay true to their beliefs and swear to a creedo that they feel as an insightful method of living. Some people are poseurs and couldn't stick with one thing longer than two minutes if their life depended on it.

WOW...now I cant argue with your goth sentiments because I dont listen to goth music, nor do I do anythign in the least "goth". however...I have a nice collection of REAL punk(nothing crappy that came from the late 90's till now. punk is dead folks...stop trying to pretend you revived it) and let me tell you that you have COMPLETELY missed the point of punkrock. You have fed into the mainstream definition that every middleschooler around seems to LOVE to adopt.

And by the way...even if what you said was completely true, it doesnt mean that deeply religions people cannot listen to this music. YES christian punk is kinda stupid. But that isnt because it is "Christian Punk" it is just because they generally have no tallent. Even if they do have tallent, they waste it by trying to imitate "hardcore" punk bands and adding "GO JESUS" to it. Seriously...it doesnt work well.

Really...even if you were completely right in your narrow-minded mainstream definition of "punk" the only person looking like an idiot would be YOU because you are telling people "OH you cant listen to that music, because you arent COOL enough. Away christians AWAY!!!"

Punk is really one of those interesting phenomena that contradicts itself. Punk bands want to get their message out to as many people as possible...but unfortunately for them to do this, they have to get popular...unfortunately being popular and mainstream is against what punk is all about...but if they arent popular and mainstream they cannot get their message heard. Its beautiful.
The thing that people seem to forget about punk is that it doesnt have an "anti-religion" message. Punk just has a MESSAGE! That message can be just about anything, but basically a band has something that they are speaking out against such as War, or military, or government, or religion(im not saying punk cant be anti-religion, im just saying that as a whole, it isnt). Usually it isnt quite that broad though. It'll be more specific to a particular issue, but hey whatever. All punk is about is spreading a certain message.

A message that clearly has been lost on you.

hey man...its not like some of us intentionally stop listening. sometimes we stop hearing god and dunno how to start listening again. its tough sometimes. In my early 'teens I had this problem big time. I just couldnt figure out how to listen right.

Maybe its because when I was a little kid I had some sort of natural grace that allowed me to listen. Innocence maybe? Dunno..

in any case it died at one point and I had to relearn how to do it. After relearning it wasnt so easy though. Back when I was younger it took absolutely no effort. Now it takes effort.
