Silentst2000, You are so stupid that when you get a brainstorm, it's nothing but a drizzle. Get a clue!
Get a clue? Lets show some tests where the cpu will most likly be used...

People don't buy "value" computers to render or play hardcore games. It's not ment to compete with athlon xp's or p4 northwoods.

Man I can't wait untill Hammer hits the market, that truley will be the Intel killer. What does Intel have to offer to counter Hammer? Me's curious.

Not hardly.

The performance numbers on 845 based DDR systems are even slower than my P4X266 DDR system, so looking at these numbers isn't really a great representation of power, seen as they are comparing P4's medium range chipset to AMD's FASTEST chipset. For a fact I know that I bench much higher 1.7ghz bench numbers than the Jedi Knight 2 bench numbers, and with a lesser video card. I would have to say "take those benchmarks with a grain of crap" because they are definitely wrong (at least for the 1.7ghz P4 system numbers).

Anyway, A P4 celeron is just a cheap way to throw Duron out of the low end market. Even my Dad thinks that AMD's are poor performers and unreliable, and since he is like the rest of america, computer illiterate, I think Intel is pulling a very smart move.

Maybe the next processor from AMD shouldn't be called Opteron, maybe it should be called Inteleron, then maybe average computer-retarded consumers will by it on the false premise that it's an intel processor.

Did I tell you AMD gave a tour of their facilities to prospective buyers? (which reportedly was surprisingly underwhelming, they were invisioning cheap, but all they saw was a fat male prostitute chained to the wall, getting drilled in the rear by some priest with a thoroughbred processor in his mouth. weird)
Throw the Duron out of the market, AMD is going to stop making them becaue the XP's are going to be their bargain processor. XP whips the new Celery on crack anyway. The only reason why everyone knows about Insqueal is because of their marketing department, not because of their quality. Finely someone comes along to give them some competition so you can buy your whittle OC'ed P4 at a decent price. You can thank us AMDer's later. Hmm..Average Computer-Retarded Consumers, you sure you don't work for Intel??? People like me come along and give people options, options to save money and get something that they really need. Not some space alien on a stupid ass commerical making them think what they need, with money they may not have to throw around. The new AMD processor could be called Interleron for sure, but we'd have to raise the price of it and when it comes out hardly have any available for anyone to buy. Oh besides that have 2 socket versions, and make sure we release the actual good version of the processor almost a year later.

It's still true to this day as it always will be. This one is an oldy but a goody, enjoy!

Default Post Press Release

Sunnyvale, CA - AMD announced today the release of the AMD Inteleron. Later next year, AMD will paper-launch this new processor, with volume shipment to begin in 2025. Running at 15GHz, this processor will barely outpace Athlon XP 2100+s, but is rumored to run "quite a bit cooler." Equipped with a 2GB L2 cache, a 1GHZ FSB, and a die the size of Texas, the Inteleron is manufactured on a .9 micron fabrication process.

Jerry Sanders was quoted as saying "This processor really represents the culmination of all our efforts here at AMD. Not only do we now have a chip with an enormous clock speed advantage... it also looks great on paper! I mean, look! 1GHz FSB! Sure it doesn't translate to much of a performance gain, but who cares?"

Industry analyst Frank Webb said, "This truly represents a large step forward in personal computing. The AMD Inteleron in its current form really isn't that great, but when AMD releases the updated version of the core in 2052, and when people start writing software that's actually optimized for AMD-MMX-SSE, it's going to be sweet! Oh, and if you overclock these chips, your computer oughta be the fastest in the neighborhood. No, really, you have to overclock them, though.."

The price for the AMD Inteleron 15GHz will be $25,000.
