I implied that blacks have gone through a history of being treated badly. Why did I mention that? Because, now, here is some statement implying that if youre black and rich, you may not be convicted of criminal charges. And I'm insinuating that some people are tying to state that since blacks arent afflicted as slaves anymore, now, blacks are immoral because their black and rich?

If you cant make a black person dirty in one way, you try to make him dirty in another way? That's what the comment Falling Jeff made conveys to me. The American Dream for many is to become a rich American citizen. Now, when a black person reaches that dream, he's tagged as immoral for being black and rich. Give me a break?

What I think Jeff meant isn't that when a black person becomes rich that he becomes dirty, it's that he's cut more slack because he's black.

People today seem to be more sympathetic to African American and women causes for no reason more than publicity tells us that they were oppressed for so long and still are and that they need our help. This girl I know thinks it's so horrible how some blacks live in the ghetto.

I know of a 16 year old kid who left home and moved out here and supported himself working just to get a better education, he didn't like what life was like at home, how no one praised education and that the white man was always out to put him down. So he came out here to better himself, I have nothing but respect for him. But as Bill Cosby said, African American's today focus more on selling drugs to make quick money and complain it's because the white man is doing him wrong somehow, and for some reason whites are feeling guilty. And a little about me, I'm the only one out of my dad's bloodline to graduate highschool, and the only one from my moms side to finish a year of college (and I'm going for a masters). Everything I have I earned, any failures I have are my own, even the day I spent at traffic school for speeding is my own fault. What I mean is that the media has hyped the whole trial and became an instrument for the defense. MJ's lawyer would have you believe that his client is a victem of endless harassment.
Several very conservative christian black leaders have expressed regret that the media has engineered a campaign of denial.
MJ is not a normal guy, and his behavior is remarkably similiar to pedaphile behavior, and that his motives are genuinely by his own admission, emotionally driven by his own insecurity.
I dont give a damn about his self image and his money and his lawyer, but I see the irony, MJ enjoyed the aegis of extreme wealth and celebrity and it and it alone kept him from prison. I am old enough to have seen MJ on television and have seen his career through the years, and the numerous settlements MJ's lawyers have brokered to keep him out of jail, and that is a plain fact.

Fair point, the Juries summing up said it all, they wasnt convicned by the weight of evidence, and were put off by the Plaintiffs mother (for blatantly obvious reasons), he was fund not guilty, I dont believe him to be totally innocent however.

Going to the point about people being rich and black getting better treatment by the courts, take out the black part and you have it right, this may only be a false impression from over here in the UK, but it looks like if you have a lot of money and a decent legal team, you can get away with anything, thanks to plea bargaining (which, as I say APPEARS to favour the rich, I could be wrong, but thats the signals most people get from the US judicial system).

Maybe Fallang Jeff adding the word black was unwise, but he has a valid point about status/wealth in the US court system.

As for me, I never accepted any form of affirmative action, but even til today, people are discriminated against as far as job placement is concerned. For example, University studies have revealed that in job selections of women, discriminatory practices have resulted. Trends of instances showing such cases as a white slim female being selected rather than a white obese female (who is actually more technically and educationally qualified) for secretarial positions, is just one example.

Evil exists in the world, and frankly, I adhere to the biblical senses of right and wrong than I do to what worldly education tries to impress on our minds as the right way. It's not only one race of people that are evil, but all races of people can display evil acts.

As I said, if the word black was not used in his comment, I'd have had no serious problem with his opinion. But, I'm not offended with Falling Jeff's comment any longer.

But, if we say that individuals receive favoritism because they are rich, we still have a problem. My only belief of a certain solution to insure peace in the wake of such injustices is to serve God; because it is appointed unto man once to die, but after this the judement. And my belief as to why this evil is in the world: Because judgement is not executed speedily upon the sons of man, their heart is set to do evil.
