off and on, haveing severe internet problems with insightbb
modem keep going fully onine themn moment later it like "resets"
and goes through the hole process and so I look in my modems logs A sample of my modem log.... No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out Unicast Ranging Received Abort Response - Re- initializing MAC No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out Unicast Ranging Received Abort Response - Re- initializing MAC DHCP WARNING - Non-critical field invalid in response. No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out Unicast Ranging Received Abort Response - Re- initializing MAC No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out Unicast Ranging Received Abort Response - Re- initializing MAC DHCP WARNING - Non-critical field invalid in response. Before this all started the signal had droped to -6 to -10DB after they did some matianece to the lines, then the last few days it been @ a constant 1DB... The dosis info looks good so don't get why they think it a signal issue when its some problem on thier fucking end no doubt as the cable betten my medeom and thier outside box is fine. My modem is fine and the signal is fine. They said it a signal issue thier sending someone out on monday to look at it!!!!! BTW: I live a stones throw away from thier main office and a the main cable hub. We live not more then 1/4 mile away from them. in a big apartment complex... Also: if it's a signal issues you'd figure thiere would also be a problem with my digital cable thats working flawlessly.... I'm online for like 5-15 seconds and offline for like 1-30 minutes repeatly radomized what are the chances it a problem with my modem? not likely I'd say... especally since thier t3 time out city all the time.... even when they are working as useal... and they sent cable people out before when I had an issue, just for them to show up after it working again and they test my lines and find everything is fine by that time. Becouse they fixed the poblem on thier end! this is driveing me INSANE!!!! WEN, THUR, FRI, SAT,SUN,MON 6 DAYS WITH OUT INTERNET ACESS, till the tech shows up if this keeps up....fuckholes! ARG!!!!! has go to do with an unacceptable return path if I had to guess. Becouse now the upstream is revolveing between channel 0,1,2 and at MAX values EDIT: Now it back up least for the last 1/2 hour about 2 hours after companing to them correction I'm conntected but it stil radomly reseting I'm just glad to see a small window of useabilty

Sounds like the best thing you could do, I have cable and for the first 6 months it was crap and always not working. It could only be the line or the modem. They replaced the modem and it would still cut off. But after about a year or two its leveling out. So I say be patient (though I know its hard because you shouldn't have to pay for something you can't even use). Maybe they make their money by interupting a cable line to a couple people's house at least for half a year. Dunno, I just know my company sucks and you have every right to make them work their ass off because you sohuldn't have to pay if you do not have to. I myself get worse pings on servers that are basically 15 miles away from me than ones that are in diff states. I complain to my service provider alll the time and it only gets better.

Sounds like me dude, I've been going 2 months with anywhere from 5%-85% packet loss and theyve come out 4 times to "fix" it. Of course it doesnt do it while the guy is here looking at it, but as soon as he leaves it starts again. Its really bad cos i use teamspeak on a daily basis, nobody breaks up to me but i break up to everyone else.
Kinda makes you wonder whatever happened to customer service. I'm thinking of cancelling my 5Meg cable line for a dependable 1.5Meg dsl line. |

They should really pay for every exact moment of a lost conection and moniter it constantly. Customer service almost does not exist in High Speed internet.

. I've had experiences with cable in 2 countries on 2 continents and both were shitty unstable crap. My experiences with dsl (again on 2 sides of the earth) rock solid, always on, never a problem. I even have to unplug it to get firmware updates (its a modem/router/digital tv reciever/voip phoneline) so that my connection isnt interrupted without my explicit permission.cable sucks, that's all there is to it. i wouldnt wish a cable connection on anyone.

CAble = faster, but the down time on it makes it pretty equal if not worse than DSL

can get on the campus t1 line on a like t3 backbone or one of the aparment complexes with built in shared T1. would be decent I guess.... DSL, after you buy a $149 KIT, (Other monthly charges apply) down /384Kbps-1.5Mbps up/128Kbps-384Kbps1 Dynamic $14.95Pro1.5Mbps- down/3.0Mbps384Kbps- up/512Kbps 1 Dynamic $24.99 (static starts at $65) Thats stupid, as a cable modem is $60 plus the service is $34.99 on top of your useally DSL is like a faster dial up, the nephews say it really slow as my pearent have cable at thier hose and they had DSL @ home... Not to mention many have usage caps and crap....

For me, Bell has been great. I have never, ever had a problem with them. Infact, they keep increasing my speed (must be the 1 year contracts I keep signing with them). I'm already up to their High Speed Ultra (625kb/s), which is rock solid all the time, yet I'm still paying peanuts for it. People have different experiences with each. For some like me, DSL has been superb, for others cable. On the other hand, for my business partner.. niether has worked for him.

I think if you can use sarcasm or puns and pathos and parody in a clever fashion there is no need for expletives, it merely diminishes the person using it.

Right, and I can certainly understand the puritan censorship in other areas of the forum but the sticky says, pretty much, that you can be a total fuckwad in the flame warzone as long as it's kept tongue in cheek. If this isn't what was intended then perhaps the sticky should either be emended or discarded.
Personally, I'm more offended by the hypocrisy demonstrated in a person censoring another person's intolerance because of their own intolerance than anything anyone might say to deride an internet service provider. For now tho, as this is the flame warzone, feel free to flame the shit out of me should you disagree, or just edit my post. cable sucks.

Cursing just seems so tasteless now. Just makes a person llok like an absolute moron because they cannot say what they want to with developed words so they resort to the part of their brain that has not evolved since they were 13.

It is possible in a very clever and humorous fashion to use the english language to deliver keen cynicism and clever wit to accomplish a good flame.

My point was this is the "flame warzone" and not the "cuddly teddybears and butterflies" thread. To censor a post with a few "naughty" words in a section where it is explicitly allowed is just plain assinine no matter what your puritan views may say to support it. Waiting and reacting in countenance of views from persons shouting of excessive or overtly hurtful phrases or threats to another group or individual would seem, at least to me, a more logical path. Perhaps there is something ambiguous in this sentence: Quote:

OMG my problem is back!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
Everything wa working last nigh and I had everything hooked up. I had gten acess by connecting directly to the wall outlet with my modem. It was working well and befre I went to bed last nigh I hooked the TV and modem back up the old way and EVERYTHING WORKED. Woke up got on line watched TV etc... Told MY ISP really no meed for them to come out now... Left came back home NO INTERNET!!!!!, had to take the Y spliter off again, and hook the modem directly to the wall. (so the TV box is no longer connected, no TV) and it still didn't work!!! BAH! SO I told my ISP again they will be out on tuesday.... I was messing with it and got SHOCKED!!! WTF??? I tested it wih my DVM and there was . 15v DC comeing down the line . My cable oulet is shared with a phone outlet I"m thinking maybe when I was messing with it that one of the wire was adding a bit to the line by being n contact. I went back in the wall plate and there were two free wires but the value it had was far stronger then .15 I cut them down, and wraped the outside metal part of the coax connector with electrical tape just to be sure there was nothig simular happening again... Still no internet connection...hooked direclty to the wall with the modem A little later I tried hooking it directly to the wall and it works again just with out the spliter, (wich means no TV in the liveing room )But at lest I'm yet again able to get online.... I still don't get what the fuck........ as if it were the cable or the spliter it shouldn't of worked last night and this morning. My best guess it has to be an outside problem with the signal. But the inside equipment/cable and spliter compounds the problem. As the signal is slighly weaked with the spliter and cable box hooked up... I had trouble with my cable box before, as in the digital cable, But this is the 1st magor ISP problem I've seen... except for a a few short outages... This is very strange.... I decided at the very lest I'll make then run new cable to thier box out side from my outlest wich is actually pretty easy as I dirllied the holes and laid the cable my self just a year or two ago... its only like 15 feet of run.... goes in the wall outside, into the shed, out the shed wall and direclty to the box. The out side cable isn't damaged.. But I still want new just in caseI though about buying one of those really good spliter but I'mdoing nothing ATM not untill they come out and I'll take things from there.........

![]() Come on mouth-breather. Certainly you've gleaned something from the shit I post to form some sort of retort. I've gone on about beating the life out of hookers with furniture parts as a means for me to get into heaven and belittling australia's stance against nuclear weapons. Saving a retaliation just to pretend you're the new Patron Saint of Public Forum Trolls isn't going to help you any as I've seen the bigoted drivel that you've (double and triple) posted in other threads as well. I think it's time to see if you can manage to give me my comeuppance without resorting to threats of bombing an entire country or racism. I won't even count grammar or spelling if that's what you're worried about.
