vote, are intel users a bunch of idiots with their stupid adverts with their fags in suits and followers who can see no wrong, even when they have processors with problems, like the doomed 1.13ghz model, like the two lines of P4 models, one range total crap while the other is the way it SHOULD have been in the first place.
poor architecture? AMD users? are they big headed egotists with cpus that run too hot which cant be overclocked as well? poor processor development? stability problems? poor chipsets that are just crap? vote, lets see !! |

Well here's the thing:
Intel vs AMD: AMD does more calculations/clock cycle, Intel makes up for it with huge numbers of Clock Cycles. Therefore, overclocking and Intel more than an athlon, really means you are stressing the AMD more with a smaller overclock. Meaning more speed with only having to overclock it 100MHz, where as a P4 would need to be overclocked by say 170MHz to get the same speed increase. Anyone who thinks different, can think whatever they want, other peoples stupidity is not my problem!

How come to overclock an Athlon 100mhz someone needs to increase their voltage to like 1.8-1.9 volts, when to clock a 1.6ghz northwood by 800Mhz they can keep it at 1.5 volts? Or a 1.7 willy by 400Mhz at 1.7 volts?
And why do AMD fans pay 50 more bucks for a 33mhz frequency difference they could get by upping their FSB a couple of notches? Hmm... |

And btw, it's 66mhz not 33. A 66mhz increase in axp speed equals a 100-200mhz increase on a p4.

You need to get the infamous advertisment in your head, then the following equation makes sense
Intel = dumb dumb dumb dumb

Overclocking the FSB affects pretty much every device in your PC - so blaming that on the processor isn't fair.

re:
Sure it is - what cooling do you have? Got branded memory chips? How high are they rated? What mobo do you have? Got any obscure components installed? Overclocking the FSB affects pretty much every device in your PC - so blaming that on the processor isn't fair. First of all I am not blaming the cpu at all. I just wanted to give reason why people would might want to buy a 133mhz fsb cpu instead of crunching up the FSB as it would give unstability for people as me. My motherboard is a msi-6330 version 2. It is not an overclocklable motherboard so when I want to up the FSB, I have to do it through software. I have an air cooling h/f, and the brand is a thermaltake cu +; the fan is going around 6700 rpm. My memory is Samsung pc133. I think the only problem that is preventing me from overclocking is the motherboard.
