Retail Rantings part 1

I work at K-mart

That has taught me one thing, and one thing only. To hate shoppers.

Shoppers as a whole are ignorant, retarded, selfish, and cheap. And yes i mean cheap.

I scan an item worth $5 and the customer tells me there should be 20% off. I tell her it only applies to certain items and point at the sign telling which one. "Oh i don't want it then" So i have to go and void the item because the customer wants to save that extra measly f*cking dollar.

Oh and when you are asked if you want a bag, "thanks" is NOT an answer. YES or NO are perfectly acceptable, no thanks.
"Would you like a bag?"
"Thanks"
WHAT THE F*CK DOES THAT MEAN?

oh and don't go and use "please" as that's just as bad

having worked in numerous shops, restaurants and hotels, I'm forced to agree.
on the whole the general public are rude ignorant bastards.

my favorite was always "that's not the price on your website" or "that's nto what the man on the phone said half an hour ago"

The website, is for buying things...don't NOT use it and then only whip it out when you want a bargain...those prices are for online orders for a reason.

And if you wanna call and get a price, ask for me...don't ask the dude's in televisions how much it is to fix a computer...they are clueless[even about tv's usually]

Also, my saying "I'll be with you as soon as I finish with these people" is not your cue to scream out "this is ridiculous, I want to see your manager"...wait your turn like everyone else, and shut....the fuck....up. I make $10 an hour, your shrink makes $200...save it for someone paid well enough to care.

I love the trump cards they try to play: "if you don't do this, (insert threat here, usually 'i'm going to switch services'); If only I was allowed to say, 'I don't give a fuck you crybaby...I work in tech support, and your business doesn't mean shit to me...please switch, then it's one less ignorant prick that I have to help'

Hmm, I seem to be in the minority who actually liked my job... I worked last summer as a go-kart operator/odd job guy, and I didn't really mind most people. They made for conversations as other people used the go-karts.

Maybe the fact that I was supposed to tell anyone troublesome that they had to leave helped out to make it less arduous.

I've a natureal want for things for absalutely nothing... sorry... i'm a cheap ass... but i give usually way to bloody easy...

I have a tendancy to rape myself.... not sure how.. but in the end.... somehow i've fucked myself....

worked as a chef for 20 years and yup customers can be disgusting and ignorant using their fingers to pick at food that other people are going to eat , eating the entire plate of food and leaving a few potatos and complaining the food was bad and refusing to pay etc

but i have also seen it the other way an seen store assistants who are pig ignorant to customers who have done nothing wrong they just asked a polite question etc

Well, I work at EB where everyone speaks a different language and gets pissed off when you can't help them. About this time of year we get people who do not know what they are talking about but think they know more about games. My job at EB is how you would say "temporary" as I am finding new ways to get my manager to lay me off. They push us to sell like we are on commission. If my DM gives me any shit about how much I need to sell, I will simply tell him pay something more than min wage and there won't be a f*ckin problem. I'm leaving there anyway and just staying with UPS and goin to school. People are dumb at UPS but at least they are not customers and are actually really nice.

I remember this lady was having a fit about something or other and it turned out she was completely wrong and all she could do was pout. So I clocked out, and halfway out the door said, well don't you feel like a moron. Then got some Ice Tea from the local In and Out (worst place ever, carls own you).

Usually the assholes are the people who wait till the last min to do all their shopping at once then blame it on you for not having it. They are the people who usually have never worked a retail job in their entire life.

Anyway, If UPS keeps me on I'll just leave EB. If not the T-Mobile store next to the EB store has offered me a job for 8.50 + commission. So I think I may take that job out of spite and flip off the DM for EB everytime I see him.

lol. i actually left customer service and worked at UPS for almost a year before i went to work for pc cRub on the retail side of things. Now i'm working a pt. job that pays very well. and supposedly, starting either january or mid febuary, i'll be getting a rather significant large monthly bonus on top of my regular hourly wages

. After i finish my probation period, imna leave pc cRub and go work for this other company for sure!

I don't see what's wrong with not buying an item that isn't on sale when you thought it was. It's the worker's job to void the item if the customer doesn't want it.

They probably said oh, 4 dollars for that, that's a good deal I don't need this yet but I'll get it while it's on sale. Then you tell them it's not on sale and they say fuck it, I'll just get it when I need it then.
