Why is everyone so hypered about 3dfx tech in new nvidia cards? PEOPLE THIER TECHNOLOGY IS 4 YEARS OLD!!!!! So I ask wtf is the point. maybe you want 1998 technology in your card, um ill take 2002. Oh and all this about glide HAHA it was a cut dont ver. of opengl. People 3DFX is dead period it would be stupid of nvidia to use anything of 3DFX`s.So why is everyone saying that?

Their tech maybe 4 years old, but they still havr the best FSAA implementation

Their hardware might be more advanced, but they still can't get their drivers to utilize it properly.

nVidia might not be as advanced, but they make what they make work very well.

hate to argue with ya digi, but thats alot of crap, lol. the new drivers from ati are pretty damn good. I know, ive got a 8500 and a TI4600. spoilt arent I?

and let me just say some of those detonators, arent quite as good as people make out !

Don't hate to argue with me, this is the place for it.

I haven't tried the ATI drivers since the 9031 release, so I can't really comment on their current state; but at that time they weren't as good as what nVidia had to offer.

Amen. I know that 99% of the people that say "3DFX had better FSAA!" are just saying that because that's what they heard. Most of you former 3dfxers couldn't tell the difference.

Most people can't tell the difference between 22Hz and 44Hz on an average set of speakers. Then run the same test on good quality speakers and the difference is amazing.

I've used FSAA on V5's, GayForce and 8500. The V5 simply had the best looking FSAA.

nvidia is SOOOOOO useless and crappy that THEY H A V E to use 3dfx tech to beat everyone on the planet.

GP tech was fsaa performance hit free. and with the 3dfx IQ the thing would smoke everything on earth.

ahhh the word I love to hear and every nvidia user hates to mention. IQ.. yes indeed if only all members spoke as much sense as you. Nvidia bought 3dfx because they were a much better company and they wanted their techs to help make their crap products better. and its about damn time they got the 3dfx technology into those lame ass overpriced pile of dog turd cards they call "nvidia". at least they look pretty, especially when they go up in smoke as so many have already due to poorly engineered and underspeced cooling. Ti4600. ROFL... anyone who bought this card, needs some mental therapy.. hilarious card. even my voodoo banshee is a better engineered card.

Nvidia suck tit, they need help, lets give them a break, send them some money, they need more research and they need the money. otherwise why would they charge over $300 for a circuit board that should have been used in a washing machine, and costs $20 to produce... **nvidia users send them more money, they didnt rip you off enough, you lame ass stupid dog turds !!!

They had way better AA and they could use "sli" type gpu's for their next gen's.

i do alot of sim racing and fsaa is great to reduce shimmering effect in distance. nascar 3 devlopers and 3dfx must have worked closely on game cause they had a box in config. graphics of game just for 3dfx fsaa. it might not have run the fastest but to this day that game still looks incredible with 4x fsaa on my old 466 celeron.
