Battle for Middleearth 2
Anyone else played this yet? I loved the first, this is shaping up well in my limited time playing it with some of the best animations ive seen in an RTS game (if you select top in the options).
Also the water effects deserve special mention. |

The demo looked promising so I'll definitely try the game out. Hope the "create your own hero" is a fun part. Give us some full quality screens in the meantime.

Anyone else running into issues were when useing a 9800 pro, that, the shadows turn to that craptasticaly wonderfull pixle shadows like those found in NFSMW?
I used both the full option on shaders and the 3/4 option and on ither setting, the shadows still look like im in MSpain doing a pixle pushing project lol. Is this a game or ATI problem... this is another game to add to the list of pixleatedshadows. |

can you post a picture of what you see in game? Possible on the 2nd tutorial? I notice the pixleation the most on the shadows of the tower.

I did not liked the 1st so much (except the music and the graphics)
The single player part was just boring skirmishes nothing to do with the Tolkien story while the multiplayer was repeative (plus some units were totally unbalanced) I hope 2 is better these time Last edited by Alien1; Feb 27, 2006 at 11:34 AM. |

BFME2 was designed to be a total single player experience, and yes it really does need a good graphics card to run, but thats if you want all the eye candy.
I look forward to playing with alot of the other different races. |

Does these happen only in ATI cards ??
Or with Nvidia cards as well From the Screenshots the game looks nice ![]() I just hope the Single player part has Story-based missions these time based on the Tolkien books not just skirmishes in a map to conquer the Middle Earth If you played the BFME 1 SP campaign probably you know what i mean Quote:

Well i just played the Demo (the 2 tutorials and the Skirmish)
I liked it so i will buy it ![]() Man the Balrog and the Dragon in Goblins are some Awesome Bonus Units. Bringing Havok to their path And the AI is pretty good (in medium) A little cheater always trying attacking the buildings that provide resources to the player first From the other hand the Dwarfs are a little how can i say...boring Most of their ordinary units are more powerfull from the goblins but they are not so impressive Note I also noticed these problem with the shadows in the Demo EA has already released patch 1.01 for BFME 2 (not for the Demo) fixing the Desync problems (?) and some stability issues Also they are going for patch 1.02 according to their forums Last edited by Alien1; Mar 1, 2006 at 10:43 PM. |

It is March 3 and still has not been released in stores in here
In some if not all European countries takes a little longer i guess Well from some reviews for BFME2 that i read the Single part of the game does not even touch the books or the movies unfortunately It's better from BFME (1) but still nothing Epic EA always gives priority to multiplayer battles and less to anything that has to do with Single player (Big Campaigns , Strong Story with interesting missions etc)

The final campaign for evil was loads of fun but kinda easy. Is it possible to build Mumakill in campaign?

^ No in the Evil campaign you can not build Mumakills
-------------------------------- For some reason the AI in the playable demo was way more challenging The campaign in the final retail game was so easy I have finished both the Evil and the Good campaigns in medium difficulty The Ai was just making pathetic rush attacks or just didn't do nothing waiting like a duck for the player to attack in most of the missions..i was expecting a better Single player experience ![]() Anyway i enjoyed the Campaign game maps as they were awesome in detail I am going to play with the War of the Ring now |

Haven't tried War of the Ring yet, is it basically the same as the campaign of BFME 1 with the conquering of each territory?

For the people saying it doesnt tie in with the book.. .Your wrong!
The campain is set more north, to what is happening to the dwarves. In the books, nothing really happened to the Dwarves, and the only ones you really knew was Gimly. So yeah, this focuses more on the more northern part of the war. And NO, they did not just make this up on the spot. |

Just started playing this. Not too impressed with it so far I'm afraid but it's still too early to tell. Runs pretty decently on my system though so that's good.
