World Of Warcraft

Hey everyone, I was thinking about getting the very highly hyped game called World Of Warcraft, but I just don't know if it would be worth the cost of the game PLUS the $15 a month to continue playing the game online. Also, the only other MMORPG that I have ever played is..........The Sims Online. If any of you play, or have played this game, and could tell me if you think a game player like me would like it, I would appreciate it. Thank You.

Well all my friends play it, but i like diablo 2 better. Even tho its a super old game, it only costed me $20 again to get LOD, (ive lost 3 accounts ). If you have the cash and ALOT of time, get it. If not get diablo 2 and play with me.

Yeah im not out to spend like $90 a year for a game that is just like diablo but has 500 poly char. I started back on diablo because of the new added bonus' from skills, and the badass runewords. Heres my sword:

Are you one of the people that plays the game constantly, and never leaves the computer? And do you think it was a very difficult learning curve???

WoW has a very low learning curve so it's easy to pick up.

Forget these MMORPG crap unless if you are one of those Multiplayer junkies
or a 10-15 years old

As you said it yourself it's hyped
I have played it for a while and personally did not attracted me

It's one of the worse RPG out there...with a very swallow system and a childish style
the only good is that it has a easy learning curve that even a 5 years old can play it

In my opinion keep your money for Oblivion if you are looking in the RPG area

You're right, its hard to compare both D2 and WoW, but I think wow is really better. I mean, its not repetitive like Diablo2 where ur need to can be lvl 85 in like 3days.

Yes im am on my computer about 15h a day lol. the reason why is that I hurt myself at job and it wont ever comeback. Its something in my left shoulder. And because of that, Im still getting paid to stay home. I dont make alot of money but at least i got some lloll.
And for the learning, WoW IS NOT hard AT ALL to understand, Its a really basic RPG gameplay. If u played Diablo2, Guild Wars or other kind of game like that, you will thinkthats its really easy.

And thats why i like it lvl doesnt mean crap, you need to know how to do things like for exp tele right to baal in baal runs, and not the begining of throne so everyone dies from black souls.

you can't just play WoW for a bit and be able to compare it to another game. Once you hit level 60 and join a hardcore raiding guild that raids 5 out of 7 nights a week...the game takes on a completely different style. it is NOT easy. Not in the least.

D2 only takes time, and anyone can be as good as anyone else, it just takes time, and gear. I had alot of fun with D2....but it's just nowhere on the same level as WoW. Not in terms of skill, depth, story...etc.

And all this talk about "WoW is better if you have the money" is kind of unfounded. 13 bucks a month is not really that much at all. Just skip two burger king meals.

I used to think that paying $15 a month was not worth it, but now I have changed my mind. I am in a great guild and I play WoW.

I have D2 and LOD expansions, but the games are old and tired. The graphics are old too and you can only get a max of 800x600 screen resolution. There is no new content being added to D2 either. Maybe a patch every once in awhile, but that's to rid it of more hacks.

WoW has content added constantly and there are a lot of things to do. If you are like me. It will take you about 4-6 months to get one character to level 60. I only play about 2-4 hours a day. Once I get to 60 I will join the guild raids to get the epic gear, but right now I am just enjoying the game, crafting, learning, and exploring.

I recommend getting WoW.

Never will play an MMO because I want a life that is real.

Can you compare WoW to reality? Nope, because WoW sucks compared to it...

If you were talking about Warcraft 3 I could not agree with you more about the childish players. But at least WoW, based on my experience, is different. As one of my friends put it, a good portion of WoW players can legally drive My guild has only one 9-10 year old kid, and he does tend to get annoying sometimes, but he still follows the rules and isn't that bad a player. Everyone else is very mature and we never have any problems.

For all the content WoW has to offer, with a lot more being added each patch, I think it's definitely worth the monthly fee.

And Green Death Flavor, if that's your logic, then why play video games at all? I really don't know of a single game that's exactly like real life, and that's the very reason I play games.

Yes you can

They are both claiming to be in the RPG area
with the difference that the one is for Multiplayer only and the other for Single player only

even if in the reality i would hardly say WOW a true RPG game

Well one for sure for me
WOW has been replaced for me already since i got a copy of it and gave it back
It's a hype that attracts the MMO fans

There are tons of more interesting games with better graphics, better sound, and better gameplay and with both single player and Multiplayer.
So why spend 20000000 hours giving a montly fee in the Net for playing a not so great game after all

I respect your opinion in these but i disagree

Especially with these:
"think it's definitely worth the monthly fee."

I will never pay montly fee for just playing a game even if they give patches something that all software companies are doing anyway today if they want costumers and not only Blizzard

I can play way more other interesting games that provide patches also and no need to pay for the Multiplayer

No.

What you're saying is like comparing Battlefield 1942/Battlefield 2 with System Shock. It's the same genre, but they appeal to and are marketed to COMPLETELY different markets.

How long did you play WoW before you decided it was all hype?

Lets just drop it Nacht ok ?

I still believe that WOW is a hyped game and whatever excuse you throw to me trying to prove the opposite will not change my mind

i have already played with it for a while anyway and i did not liked it...and with the stupid monthly fee

I haven't read the posts ahead of mine but I would say at least try it for 3 months and see how you like it. The game has great gameplay and a somewhat decent social system. Instanced PVP makes PVE servers worth playing on. For the casual gamer high end instances/items do become a little harder to obtain, but possible if you have the skills by 60. The game is still fun even if you aren't doing the high end. Meh I don't know... just try it.

I believe there is a free trial available somewhere, give it a shot of yourself. I didn't care for it, I'm not dedicated enough to justify the cost, and the people who play kind of scare me.
