BattleField 2 - CTD w/256 MB AGP Aperture

Using a very well-known online Tweak Guide, I opted to try upping my AGP Aperture setting from 128 to 256 MB to see if BF-2 would perform any differently on my system.

What I discovered is that the game won't even START with 256 as my aperture setting! I would see the initial splash screen, then a few black screen flickers and then.....the Desktop.

No error message, no pop-up screen, nothing....but Desktop.

I re-booted a few times and turned off background apps.

Still CTD every single time!

Changed my AGP Aperture back to 128 and -- the game starts just fine again.

Weird!
