Anyone here fan of the TES series ?

for those who come from an other planet and don't know what TES is

As for the sceenshot, they are real ingame screenshot, they havn't been modded or anything (however , you'll need a PCmoster to run it at such detailed level)

yeah, there's more than a couple of fans here!
Morrowind was my first TES game, heard all the comparisons in the nwn forum and had to check it out. I love such an enormous and open-ended world to explore, and so pretty! Really looking forward to Oblivion, and dreading it too (it's effect on my real life)!

Oh, yes! We have more than a few posts and threads here about OBLIVION.

Morrowind was my first TES game as well. I also enjoyed Tribunal and BloodMoon.

Can't wait to see how OBLIVION performs on my system and to get into the story.

I've been playing TES since Arena. I have more hours in Arena that any other game i've ever played. Still didn't get close to beating it tough.

Well I knew this anyways but my video card and cpu failed for the recommended but everything else is fine. I'm not gonna get a new cpu until i get a new motherboard so that is a no go. The videocard is pretty much the same. For the CPU I can always overclock to 3.0+ since I have watercooling. I think the max for this cpu is 3.6 GHz but since its a prescott its gets extremely hot fast so I dont want to go to high. But it this cpu blows I have a 2.4c GHz backup. I can overclock my videocard too, I think I got it to 630 before it became unstable.
The only thing holding me back is the heat factor.
There recommendation on video cards: ATi X800+ or a Nvidia 6800+, I saw one at a store but it was 300 bucks, I read a review and I'm glad I saved my money. I'll keep this card I have and go as high as I can with the overclocking... Woohoo!! I smell something Cookin' and it aint in the kitchen hahahah.

Acually this is one of my most wanted games for the next year. I drooled over all the in game demos and jesus i loved morrowind.

I need a X1900 and a new CPU quick, i hope 1280 6xAA is playable with a X1900XT.

My laptop misses the recommended setup by a little. It's got a 128MB x700 and 2ghz centrino. Do you guys think this will hinder me alot?

I bet you can play it, it won't look like the screens, but it will play it. How much RAM? If you don't already have a gig, I wouldn't wait, cause with those specs, a gig will help out tremendously.

its got a gig of ddr2 533

I know I can play it, I was just wondering to what extent. I left my rig at home (amd 64 3800+, 6800GTx2 SLI, raptor, 1024 ddr400) so I have to make do with what I have here.

It will probably be a method of trial and error until you get settings that suit that particular laptop configuration. Hopefully, you'll get settings that you can enjoy.

Can't wait seein is I have no life. I think that why my friends abandoned me, I'm not doin school or work, and got no GF at the moment. I tihnk God was probably like, I must clear a way in ur life for Oblivion : ). I only joke (srry God, don't fry me)

OMG!! The water is awesome, better reflections, the detail will be amazing, I'm glad they got rid of the fog now you can see everything, going to be a hit on frame rates but it will be really be worth it. What I think was really needed in these games is better tree and grass detail. Get your area looking real and you will feel like your really in a good book, instead of reading about it your living the adventure.
I think the first thing I will do when I get Oblivion will be to sit high on one of those mountains and just watch everything, the sky the grass the trees blowing in the wind, the light grow dim then dark then light again, go bird watching, or track a dangerous animal threw the forest then be eaten.
