System Specs

I can't even install this game, errors with direct-x 9c. I have latest direct-x running and I even tried to install february 2006-directx from the dvd(installer asked to install from web tho). I'm already mad with this game.

Set it to Windows 2000 compatibility.

heh wow in the beginning of the thread i was seriously considering buying the game but now i definately wont be.

Ive never played Mafia and you guys speak so highly of it ill definately give that a try

Theres a few tweaks for Mafia that newer cards can utilize. If you have Tray tools or perhaps its possible with CCC enable "Force Mini-map filter" and max out the AA/AF and Adaptive antialiasing the game looks incredible in the outdoor scenes.

Im uninstalling this game. I cant even stand to play it. I hope im not missing out on gameplay, but, its so anoying to look in some of the shop windows to see the inside of the shop is basicaly a triangle angled back between two walls and then a texture is shittily pasted onto it. The textures are very repetitive and the cars are just plain ugly. What the hell did they fill the disk with to get it over 3 gigs?

LOL for me I'm getting annoyed with the character models on all the lead movie roles, they look spectacular but everyone else looks like playdough in comparison.

When I finally got to the part with Al Pacino he doesnt even look or sound like him! Obviously EA spent the entire budget on the voices of Brando, Duvalle and James Cann and couldn't afford Pacino or much of level design.

Normally I don't care about game reviews but if IGN and Gamespot don't pan this game I'm gonna be pissed.

If you check around for Mafia, you may find it bundled with Hitman. At least it's that way in our area now. But, I know nothing about Hitman.

I read about this game in the freakin newspapers and it was even on the news a few times how much effort EA was putting into it to recapture the essence of the film. Most importantly they mentioned how it would boost EA's stocks and make the investors happy.

I could be wrong but I think this is the first EA game ever that was rushed not for the fans but for the investors. Maybe releasing it in March would boost their Q1 results?
