It sounds like your strength and stamina are very low to begin with. As you level up, be sure to select strength as one of the attributes.

Also, try doing more blocking on the 'easier' enemies to raise your blocking level faster. The more you do it, the better you'll get at it.

i found the levers. wish i was warned that this was a high lvl area... my lowly lvl 2 cant stand a chance down there.

actually, im useing oscuros 1.3 mod. my original character is about lvl 40.
my oscuros is 10 hours in, and only lvl 4.

I'm at same spot, 11 hours lvl 5 using the 2x lvling. It's tough but I've still been able to fight lots of big baddies except those 2 statues that come alive in the Big Heist quest omg they are weilding those Aylied weapons and whatever powers they have it kills me in 3 hits. Sadly I don't think I can go back to that dungeon later on to get those weapons.

i run from most humans.... they all seem to kill me in about 2 hits. if i attack a mage, im dead instantly. magic completly kills me, even at 100% health.

whens that patch supposed to be comeing out for OOO?

The quest I'm on right now is a Daedric quest. It involves making 10 Black Soul Gems and then trapping the soul of each of the ten races in the game.

Now...if I can just keep track of which races I've got.

Mind you, if I'm caught with Black Soul Gems in my possession, I risk getting kicked out of the Mage Guild....and I'm the Archmage.

really? i had no problem with that.

heres a tip for that quest, go to the deadric shrines and kill the worshipers. makes things real easy that way. all the races are at the shrines.

I read that, although Necromancy is not actually illegal, if one is caught carrying black soul gems, it's a sign that you are involved in it and can be kicked out of the Mage's Guild. I haven't actually suffered that fate, just trying to avoid it in case it actually does happen.

And, I actually did think about visiting the worshippers. Sounds like a fate they all deserve.

EDIT: Well, I have all the souls except the Altmer. Seems I recall seeing a few onboard the ships.

heh, i love the new weapons and armor in OOO

i had the entire imperial watch set, but sold it off for the dark elven stuff

the dragon bow does 10 fire dmg per shot and has 333 charges. itll last me for quite some time

This past few weeks my roomate hasn't been around so i have been borrowing his computer a lot just to play oblivion.

I made a new character. Not really a specific class. I just took skill that I haven't really used before i.e. Alchemy, Archery, Sneak. And I must say these three skills are making it quite a bit more enjoyable for me.

If you will use 'sneak' in all the caves and dungeons, your sneak skill will improve greatly and much faster. I play with the reticule turned off...but use it in sneak for my archery and magic spells.

finaly killed the black rock pirate captin, did it in 1 hit too. he could kill me in 1 hit, and he took out about 9 gaurds that never made a dent in him. used a nice little gift i picked up from lucian lachance, he had a More Welkend Arrow sitting on his shelf that i took. the only thing it said in the description was "release dark welkend" 1 hit and the captin fell over dead from full health.

soooo i went looting his body and picked up a new weapon and armor.

the boots are magical glass boots that grant waterwalking on self.

these staffs are somethng ive had for some time now, beat the hell out of torches.

I finally got all the 10 souls and presented them to the Daedric prince.

Here's the funny part: I finally got an Altmer soul down in Anvil. BUT, it put a bounty of 1000 on my head and I didn't have time to mount Shadowmere before leaving town....as the guards were after me. That made it so I couldn't Fast Travel, either.

I jumped off the dock and made a swim for it to the far shore.

Then, I had to hot foot it ALL the way from Anvil to the upper North end of the map.

But, it was not all a lost cause. I discovered several new locations on my mad dash to avoid arrest. LOL!

Some more Oblivion Experience:

There is a Corrupt Guard in Imperial City. If you take care of that quest, you will come across this guard another time in a place far away from the city.

If you played the Bloodmoon addon for Morrowind, it's quite a nice tie-in to that story.

Dive Rock is located to the NE of Azura's Shrine.

anyone able to help me with mods again?

i reinstalled oblivion on my new system and am having trouble with mods. There are suppose to replace files in the texture folder, but there is no texture folder. I can't remember what i di d previously and can't find anything anywhere else.

Dump all mods in

C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data

unless otherwise noted.

The texture and meshes folders are in that data folder.

That is the thing. in the Data folder there are no texture and meshes folders. There are files called Oblivion - Meshes and Oblivion - Textures. No folders. I put the mods in the textures and meshes folders anyways but they aren't working.

Be sure to run the update Patch before you proceed. If that doesn't correct the location of the folders, you may need to reinstall the game again.

In my C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data directory I have Music, Shaders, textures, Video folders and then a list of other files...including the ones you mention.

i think i figured it out.. i uncompressed all the textures, mesh, voices files with the oblivion mod manager. i believes that should work.

I've been playing Oblivion for a long time now and i've spent quite a bit of cash just to get it to the level of performance i have now (well a lot of cash for a 17 year old with minimum wages

) This is probably the best game i've ever played but i do wish it was a little bit smoother when i play, i've got an AMD 64 3200+ 2GB of Kingston Ram 520W Kingwin PSU and a Sapphire X850XT PCI-E 256MB all in a roomy, cool Xion II case. I can play this game for hours on end w/o probs but my avg fps is probably like 25. I have the latest Omega drivers and the latest ati drivers for my ATI Xpress 200 chipset. What else can I do to improve my fps? the res is set to 1024x728 with no AA or AF on. Thx for any advice

Get ATI Tray tools and set "flip queque size to 3" that will provide a boost in places where the mouse is laggy.
