StarWars Battlefront II

I just picked this up for cheap, Installing it now. For those of you that play it, what are your opinions on it?

Would I, Not really a starwars fan but I did like the movies, Get alot of fun out of it?

I cant even play it, Its hard-reset my computer twice, Once right after the opening tutorial video and second while i was browsing the options. This is a fresh x64 install Most windows updates installed, .Net framework installed, DirectX installed, Latest Battlefront II Patch installed.

Ill post again when I find out why and hopefully a fix.

Turns out sometimes it just doesnt play nice with x64 XP, Havent found any fixes yet, someone recomended the dedicated server patch, Downloading that now.

Dedicated server patch didnt work for me latest DirectX installed also no help, others have mentioned the 1280x1024 res may cause some issues im going to try a lower res next

Res change was no help.

I sure am glad I downloaded x64, waited 2 days to install it, purchased blank cdrs, formatted my HD, and installed x64, yep... glad.

I think I recall someone saying you had you right click on the executable and set it to windows 2000 compatibility. I'm purty sure that solved that resetting problem

just tried that, played for about two minutes then just reset my computer, Ive also previously tried xp and 98 mode.

Many people have said BFII doesnt like dual core so i disabled one of my threads just for this game but also no help.

Its not just Battlefront I installed Oblivion and it did the same thing.. Bye Bye x64 your Novelty has just worn off.

My younger brother has a system comparable to yours, only difference is that he runs an AMD X2 4800.

Runs fine on his x64 system.
