ATI and Everquest2

Have freezing problems with Radeon x600pro playing EQ2
With new installed Omegadriver 6.3 it's a bit better, but still have VPU recoveries and black screen
Anybody has a solution or a parameter setup?

Any help is welcome that gets me from

Disable VPU recover?

Was thinking the same and tried it.

Result is immediate freeze or reboot

Error message then is INFINITE LOOP, THREAD STUCK IN DEVICE DRIVER,
after quite a lot of restarts, Windows "recovers" from a heavy error caused by ATI driver, offer solution 1. contact ATI (contacted many times, nearly always auto-responses like "check game updates, new drivers........wrote them all is brandnew and updated, no more response)
customer service is not a strong side of ATI
2. decrease all Hardware acceleration (practically impossible, no game runs without it)

it's an old problem
Still hasn't been fixed for more than a year.

Switch back to 5.2 or previous ATI drivers (any would do. Omega, DH, or catalyst)

Also, enable fast writes (if AGP)
