Do you remember GDI and NOD from the Westwood C&C Tiberian Sun universe

They are coming back !!...

Command & Conquer 3 is the sequel to Tiberian Sun, continuing the Tiberian storyline from the original C&C. It has been announced in the June 2006 issue of PC Gamer which featured several in-game screenshots.

The story takes place in the year 2047 the world is in chaos. GDI is trying to save what's left of Earth, while Nod, believing in the ancient prophecy about the link between Kane and Tiberium, fights GDI on all fronts.

This is wonderful news, and the screenshots look promising, but I read somewhere that westwood went down hill with there C&C games since being bought by EA? Is this true, I been kinda out of the loop with westwood studios. I like the C&C series, but if EA is killing the games I have come to respect well.. that is sad news indeed.

Yes but EA has bought all the rights of these game title from Westwood among with some their staff also so they can do whatever they want

EA are probably trying to bring the Westwood C&C universe series back on track

C&C 3 will be based on the Westwood Tiberium Sun universe and not to the C&C Generals universe
Time will tell if they succeed on that...

EA even said that KANE (the famous NOD leader from the Tiberium Sun universe) will exist in C&C 3
but they are not sure yet who is going to play the role

EA has done C&C Justice, I think....both renegade and generals were excellent.

I'm incredibly excited by this

generals expansion really brought back the feel, its exactly what epic did with ut2004. and to be honest, i want the classic control panel back with some new options to be fowarded where the units are being made.

tiberiun sun is what got me into C&C in the first place, my buddy should be happy to hear this

Joe Kucan was a member of the Westwood Studios

I do not know if EA rehires him but i do not think so

Well It's based on a alternative future
Where Tiberium ( a valuable resource but deadly also) has almost infested most countries of Earth bringing Chaos

It's clearly science fiction...

anyway
with little words there are not real nations fighting each other in these one (USA vs China for example)
there are two powerfull powers fighting in Earth in the Tiberium sun Universe
the GDI ( a alliance of today Nations -The good guys-)
and
the NOD ( A powerfull cult-terrorist like organisation -The Bad guys)

Except from gameplay the whole idea it's not exactly like Generals
