Canon20d is on a distinguished road

Call of Duty 2 1.2 Patch install manually

God damn programmers! They let me install my game into any directory i want, so i make it nice and short, instead of thier long ass directoy name under 4 different sub folders and put it in programfiles/cod2 and now the stupid patch cant find thier game and wont install the update

Is there a way to manually install the update so i DONT have to uninstall the WHOLE damn game and reinstall all like 6 fricking discs?

PS: and retyping entire messages cause IE decided to reload the page is REALLY annoying

i guess you could try an exe unpacker that works with that patch and then place each and every file in the right location but even then im not sure if that will work.i have never tried it.why would you want to not put the game in the programs folder of whatever drive you installed it on.i have four partitions with games on them and just change the path to the drive letter of the partition im installing to and i never have problems.
you might be able to convert your cds to dvd.
here is a link to instructions to do this but i already have dvd version so i havent tried.

Besides youre problem is odd if it was installed through windows in the normal way.The instalation path must of been removed hence it can not be found.

Only take notice of this if you have a dvd burner.Otherwise it's no use to you.

If you have then the is a cd > dvd guide Here.

I have done this myself and the game & updates install fine.

are you sure you arent running behind a firewall that is blocking this game?i have never had problems with mp other then the standard well known bugs but i have always been able to connect to main server and launch the game.is this a legal copy?are you modding anything in the config file before patching or trying to launch mp?

This sounds like a classic firewall situation where the app hasn't been given permission to connect. I have the EXACT same thing happen if I forget/overlook to do so.

i am no iw fanboy by any means,as a matter of fact i think the way they have handled the release and patching of the whole cod series sucks ass.BUT,if it is the game and the game alone keeping you from launching cod2 mp then you are the only one ever.i cannot find anybody with any problem even remotely like yours that didnt end up being caused by a firewall, antivirus, router, switch or user error related issue.sry to see you go because we need more cod2 mp players.
one more questionS,
do you have any other issues with any other mp games connecting or launching?are you running onboard ethernet or wireless or third party card?are you useing a router or switch or both? all your firmware up to date and correct oem versions,or are they modded or altered versions?the only reason i am convinced it is this type of problem is i have installed and played cod2 mp on about 10 different pcs of all shaped and sizes and from crap to highend and have never had one problem launching mp or connecting to a server except the normal bugs of the game.

well i got the mp side of the game running
for some reason (wich i have no idea on) it hangs on the loading screen for ages but actually loads now....once im in a game, it connects to servers etc normally...now that wouldnt bother me if i was just joining servers thru the cod2 server list, but im using my ISPs gaming "launcher" (COGS) so i dont get charged any bandwidth usage ...so half the time the server is full by the time i get in

sp still loads fast and plays fast

(after format)

so basically i got it working....so i may buy cod3 after all

im not sure what you mean by getting charged for bandwidth usage.
if you are using some kind of game launcher that was provided by an isp then i will promise you that it is 100% percent of the problems you are having with mp.i dont believe that any mp game uses that much bandwidth.its not like you are downloading music or movies with large file being transfered.any of the game optomizers or launchers that run in the background suck and will dog your system and performance of gameplay.

P.S. cod3 is for console only and is not being mad by iw.we may never see another full cod game from iw because of all the bad press from the cod 2 patching scandal.we might see some expansions and maybe some really good mods if iw and activision will release the damn sdk package and fix the gamestate issues and the punkbuster issues.
