Fable The Lost Chapters..isnt working for me...can some1 help plllzzz?
pleease help me out....
my specs are 1.8 Ghz, 384 MB RAM, 24x speed cd rom (but i have an external 52x speed), 128 MB video memory, and more than enough Hard Drive space (game only needs 3 GB) I installed the game (Fable: The Lost Chapters for PC) but when i try to start it, it says it has encountered a problem and needs to close. It also says: AppName: fable.exe AppVer: 25.7.13.149 ModName: fable.exe ModVer: 25.7.13.149 Offset: 0063b6e7 I didn't install WindowBlinds because I heard that causes problems with Fable. The game is brand new and my computer is fine. What do i do???  [color=black] Please help me out...[/color]

whoa there's a patch??
click the properties of Fable.exe & go to compatability & check off 'disable visual themes' & instead of '128mb video memory', what card brand/model are you man companies need to stop giving such badly worded requirements.. |

ya a bit better now..... though more info is needed than 'directx 9' hehe... sure the game can RUN but at 10fps but we dont want that now do we

i think i have RealTek Audio....i 4get....but nothing should be wrong with my sound ...im not at my computer rite now...im at work...and no i havent downloaded a patch for it..i didnt kno i was supposed to....wut do i do?

Appearently onboard audio can conflict with the game and cause errors disable your onboard audio and try to run the game. If it works then your going to have to pick up a pci Sound Card

Nope not fine at all SIS is Onboard Graphics you cannot play fable (or most 3d games) with onboard graphics. The Xabre 600 from SIS is listed to support fable though.
You'll have to purchase a Capable video card in order to play the game. yea that was just a copy paste from fables site, I doubt with his computer he'd be looking at an x1k or 7 series

lol.....i doubt his computer would have an AGP port (not likley to have a PCI-E port) at all now that he's said that he has on board video

is there any alternative? cuz man..i really wanted to play this game cuz idk if my comp. can be upgraded with new things cuz it's a notebook and plus i dont wanna have to pay for all these things jus for one game

those are what I consider 3D games neway....idk about yall though... u guys kno alot more than I do on this stuff lol I just know the basics

max payne and gta3 are the only 3d games in that list, and TBH, they're pretty old, so your comp is able to handle them. as for fable, it's a much newer 3d game, so the requierments for it, are much more than any of the games you have now.
as far as upgrading your lappy, the only thing you can do is just upgrade the amount of memory from 386Mb to say 512Mb, but that isn't what you need. what you need is a gfx card, and that is an option you do not have in most laptops, especially older ones. |

one more thing....if im able to watch the video from the game's files (after installing fable) with no problem, then does that mean my card is capable of the game or no? im guessin no lol but wut do u guys say?

no. usually video playback is rendered in 2d, so even older gfx cards can playback the video.
as for the xbox version, it's basically the same as the pc version, but in the pc version, there's a few new things added to it that xbox version has. oh, and also, the loading between levels is MUCH faster on pc than on xbox |

aight thanks, i wish i can play it but right now the funds aren't there to be buying things lol, i'll just hold on to it, and hopefully i'll get a better card or laptop that'll be able to play the game, thanks for all the info!

eww SiS... no wonder, friend had same issue... i sold a 9800pro i had hehe, now it's super
now.... crazy idea, but http://www.tommti-systems.de/main-Dateien/files.html maybe you can force fable to run but it will be incredibly slow/broken... i tried this on a geforce2 & had no ground texture but it loaded heh & well... i'm not into fantasy/medival/rpg... but i really got into fable & just be patient till you get some hardware & you'll love it |

same problem
I had the same problem. game would start up but when it would load i would get the error and it would quit.
i updated my audigy drivers and it worked for a couple weeks. yesterday it started doing the same thing so i uninstalled the audio drivers and re-installed and it still didn't work. i created a new profile in accordance with microsoft fix and it didn't work. i uninstalled and re-installed the game it didn't work. i used a back up copy of my saved files and it didn't work. it would only work if i disabled my audio card. so on a whim i went into dxdiag and i went to the sound1 and sound2 tabs and i changed "hardware sound acceleration" to "NO accelereation" and it works fine now with sound and everything
