Two months after the beta updates, Electronic Arts has released the final retail patches and servers for Battlefield 2, keeping the 3D multiplayer action game by Digital Illusions to version 1.4. As before you can update from the previous v1.3 or any older version, and this release adds a new Road to Jalalabad map, a No Vehicles server option, a few gameplay tweaks, a series of bug fixes, and more.

NEW CONTENT

- New level: Road to Jalalabaad (Conquest 16-32-64, Singleplayer, Co-op)
- New Server Option: No Vehicles mode

GAMEPLAY TWEAKS

- The vehicle drop has been modified to help prevent exploits such as blocking enemy vehicles, destroying vehicles and commander assets, or as an alternative to artillery.
- C4 tossing distance has been reduced.
- A prone->crouch delay has been added.

BUG FIXES

- Fixed the Linux server hangs when trying to load a Special Forces Co-Op map.
- Another attempt at fixing the Red/Blue nametag bug.
- Fixed the missing server info on the map briefing screen.
- Fixed the server browser issues with updating info.
- Fixed the filter by maps size option in the server browser.
- Fixed a low reproducibility crash bug related to the vehicle drop.
- Fixed a crash in Co-op after a player is revived without a kit.
- Fixed a server crash on Linux 32 when trying to rotate maps in Coop Mode.
- Fixed the occasionnal red distance marker appearing on the ground.
- Fixed the bug that caused the player's arms to become invisible when switching weapons.
- Co-Op bot console commands now function on local servers.
- Fixed the excessive damage taken by the Muscle Car.
- Adjusted the minimum number of players to start the round on ranked servers.
The new values for 16, 32 and 64 players are 6, 8 and 8 respectively.
- Re-enabled unlocks on unranked servers.
- Commander options are no longer available whilst commander is dead.
- Fixed bug where a spawn point is shown as selected when it is not if player has spawned in during the preview round.
- Co-Op (Local Server) - Fixed the issue where no other players may join the server if the server host is kicked and banned.
- Ranked Servers now force unlocks.
- Added support for multiple gamemodes in single maplist for mods.

And i thought it would be released in 2142.

Ok, first 15 minutes of gaming ended with CTD . I saw a lot of lag and my ping was very high, though, there were some other ppl with high ping in that server. Anyways, i saw some improvement of performance. No stuttering in the beginning and slightly faster loading times. But after 10 minutes is started to lag and stutter as hell. What else...sync issues: Tank was shooting at me, it blasted me to pieces with rocket, but i didn't even hear a single sound. While i used my Eryx, i shot at tank, shell exploded at tank, and in a moment my weapon was reloaded and that shell wasn't shot out. So god damn, we're still in 1.3 It's like 1.3 ALPHA they dug up. Fuck them, i just hope i can play PoE2 now.


Oh and...I can't play PoE2 now. There are no servers in the list...Only few 0 player 500 ping servers. WOOT!!!! Can't play PoE2, their patch sucks, i just wasted 140 megs of bandwidth. I COULD HAVE USED IT TO DOWNLOAD PORN FFS!

Ya sync issues still suck in 1.4. I was about 50 feet away and AT'd a full vodnik that was capping a flag my rocket went right through the back and out the front. BULLSHIT. Same old crap with one on one combat you plug a guy 15-20 times he dives through it and kills you in 2 shots.

If there was anything worth shit to play besides BF2 this game would have died already but it is kept alive by the lack of available FPS games.

BF2142 isn't worth shit itself, I'm in the beta and it plays like a rushed mod and of course it'll be out months before QuakeWars making it the only new FPS to play for a while.

15 min and I got CTD too.. (BF2)
Ping is fine..
Never had stutter i normal BF2. Little in poe2, havent checked with 1.4 yet.

Found 1 server that worked with poe2, called something like "Joes 1.4" with 40 slUts

edit, oh.. and i dont use sync.. i just kill stuff regardless of sync :-D
