high resolutions gaming performance?

So, I was wondering if a x1800xt with 512 could provide enough 3D power to play games at resolution of 1900x1200. I am not asking for 110fps of course, but over 30 would be ok I guess.

well heres the math..

If you are doing quite well @ 1280x1024 say 100fps (lets just do theoretical "paper" math just to get an estimate)...

That's pushing we'll call it 1.3 million pixels every frame 100 times a second. (so 130 million pixels per second are able to be pushed by the hardware)

@ 1900x1200 is roughly 2.3million pixels that need to be drawn every frame. just do some quick math.

you could expect roughly 56 fps @ that resolution, however considering that there is more overhead to deal with @ that resolution, so call it 50fps or maybe less would be expected.

So, your guess would be about 50% ?
Of course (my guess) I wouldn't need to have AA or AF on at such high res. On the other hand the screen is going to be larger...but, the dot pitch I think it is smaller than in my current monitor...oh well.

I just hope that my 1800xt will be ok till the dx10 cards are out. I have no desire to get another card now. Just the monitor is freaking expensive.
