Well I was ready to hate this game, but watching the video and listening to the guy discribe the different features, weapons, visuals, gameplay.. It's looks ok but not the best game out or coming out. This gears of war using the new unreal engine 3 right? Probably the only game out sporting UE3 GFX. I would give it a 8.7 on the badass scale.
9.6 is a very rare score for most games these days. I'll wait for more games that have the unreal engine 3 gfx and decide which is better. Plus it being a console game, well the score wasn't effected by it. You guys love your overheating xboxes and we have our overheating pc's = xpcbox's?

I hope the review are honest because it is too good to be true lol. This is one of the reason why I want to get Xbox 360 and I will get it next week, my hand is shaking.

Too bad you can't play it with a freaking mouse like it should be played.

To me that is why consoles suck.. sounds like a good game, if it was on a PC.

I disagree. This game is made for a gamepad.

I wonder though if MS will ever release a mouse/keyboard for the 360.

Whatever- shooters with gamepads totally suck compared to using a mouse/keyboard.

I guess somebody somewhere will always "disagree" but most people agree that shooters are always better with a mouse. It is ridiculous that in 2007 you are forced to use a gamepad for a shooter even on a console.. they should at least make it an option to get a simple mouse / keypad controller specifically for shooters.

I played COD2 on the 360 with a controller.. Doesn't compare to a mouse, there's just no way to have as much control over aiming.

Well, I agree that it is more accurate with a mouse, but that doesn't make the use of a gamepad any less fun, if it is done right. COD2 is done right with a controller and it is fun for me to play it.
I do wish there was a mouse for the 360, mainly though to finaly have some strategy games for it.

One more thing. Gears of War is more like a 3rd Person shooter than a 1st. Also, since a lot of the game is about hiding behind cover to pick enemies behind it, using a gamepad doesn't make it any less fun IMO.

Metroid Prime series is probably the only game that produces the BEST FPS console targeting method, although a bit cheap on how it can be perfectly accurate, you don't have to deal with shittily tilting and spining and crap just to keep up with a fast moving target.

I just watched the 100MB version of this video review from Gamespot.. The game does look quite good.. The Youtube version doesn't do it justice really. (the 100MB version probably doesn't either, but it's much better).

Too bad games like this won't see a PC.. or will they?

I think the issue is sales. the pc market is imploding and only a few big titles sell well. Even Call of Duty 3 isnt planned for PC. a huge loss too.

Peronsally I feel like a mouse is more accurate for an FPS game but the overall movement mechanisms are more natural on a gamepad. Having a joystick makes movement more natural than four keys in my opinion.

Joystick can be just as accurate as a mouse with enough training on it. I used to be #5 in the first Unreal Championship for Xbox. Its harder to get used to but u can pop off headshots way easier after a year or so of intense training on it and getting the sensetivity just right.

Yeah and I bet a solid year of intense dinner training and I would learn to tolerate liver but thats not something I'm willing to do

Well, I am currently downloading the 430MBs version of the review. The only thing that worries me about the game is the length of the single player portion of it. 10 hours is not that much for me.

It's not good enough to change the way games are made, its not doom or quake, but overall it looks fun but to me this isnt the best game ever made.
Unreal 3 should be pretty cool though xbox/pc release. unreal 2 was a let down, I hope they do a better job with that game with the new engine.
