PS3 Suffers First Game Delays
Much like most launches, the PS3 has now suffered its first delays.
First off, Bethesda Softworks released a statement a few days ago; the developer/publisher's vice president of PR, Pete Hines, said: "Oblivion PS3 is now a Q1 2007 title." That's right, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, the popular and critically acclaimed RPG, will not see life on the PS3 until next year. But Oblivion was only the first casualty. Online retailers are listing the PS3 port of F.E.A.R for February 2007, and now it appears that Sonic the Hedgehog won't make it for the PS3 launch, either. However, the latter is still expected to release this year; perhaps a week or two before Christmas. And lastly, EA's NBA Live 07 hasn't been postponed, it's been cancelled indefinitely. EA Sports confirmed this yesterday, but hoops fans still have two other options for the PS3 launch: Sony's NBA 07 and 2K Sports' NBA 2K7...which isn't an altogether bad option, considering 2K7 has been heralded as the superior basketball game this year. "Our PS3 designs for NBA Live are very ambitious and we did not want to rush the game this year," an EA Sports rep told GameSpot. "We expect that NBA Live will be available on PS3 next season." On the plus side, though, future PS3 owners can look forward to NBA Street Homecourt, an EA-developed b-ball title, set to be released early next year for both the PS3 and Xbox 360. Doh! Didn't even see the date until you mentioned it.
Funny thing is that PSX Extreme sends me these emails about their news a couple days after they post it, so it figures it'd be late news. |

The game makers may as well take some time to polish their games, there will be more PS3 systems available by then. More available systems=more games being sold.
