Oblivion: Knights of the Nine

Ok people just got the shock of my life, checked Oblivion updates on xbox live and the new Expansion Knights of the Nine is available now. Im bouncing on my seat waiting for it to download.

I'm about as giddy as a kid on Christmas morning right now. LORL!

I just checked out the inherited spire up near Bruma. WOW!! What a nice inheritance! Good thing I've got close to 300,000 gold coins to invest in it.

I also picked up some Elven Armor for Shadowmere.

I didn't even realize it had come out yet until I seen this post. It was too late for me though the stores that had it closed. Those stores won't be open tomorrow, and forget about going out on Black Friday to get it.

Dyre you mean to say you have never tried any of the plugins? No wonder you are so happy with the horse armor and wizards tower. I guess all of them at once must seem like an expansion.

I've got Knights of the Nine for PC (had it for a few days) but when I loaded up the game there weren't any quest popups so I didn't know what do to. My character is only lvl and in the Dark Brotherhood perhaps I'm not heroic enough to start the quest?

20 bucks? It's about £5 on xboxlive which is only about $8US or $12Can and yes it's worth every single penny. I spent a few hours on it last night and it definitely adds lots to the game.

No, the only things I got for the original release were the landscape and natural weather. So, yes! All of this, all at once, is like getting a totally new expansion. The thing is, I've still been discovering new areas to plunder still up to getting this addon. I can safely say, I've played nearly every night since the game came out in MARCH and it amazes me that there's still so much on the original to discover!

Just the quest I'm on now is worth spending the money for! I've been at it for hours and am only just NOW ready to complete it. This is the one for Mehrune's Razor, in case you're interested. It's VAST....the fighting is INTENSIVE....and the rewards are AWESOME!!!

For those who haven't delved into it, imagine having to take out a whole underground ARMY single-handedly. Well, that's what this one involves. Hours and Hours of battle with soldiers, laborers, you name it!

It's GREAT!!! if you like Oblivion at all.

Its only $9.99 for the PC version at the offical site. Shouldn't have to brave the stores.. just download it from them.

Dyre you should also check out a series of mods called "Unique Landscapes" they make sections of the world looking incredible and are highly rated.

Knights of the Nine is a totally new Quest dealing with a new enemy. It involves doing a Pilgrimage to locate certain artifacts/items with which to face and defeat this new enemy.

So far, it's very interesting.

The entire package that's available includes previous official addons, too.

I need to post a movie of some hilarious combat.

I have a Mage's Staff that Paralyzes for 8 seconds. With that, and by drinking a Restore Magicka potion, then selecting a Fireball spell, I can zap the enemy with Paralyze, then hit them with a Fireball repeatedly....watching them bounce off the ceiling and walls. Man, if the Fireball doesn't kill 'em, the fall from the ceiling should!!

When they try to get up, I zap 'em again with Paralyze and repeat till they're finished.

I've had some of them to fly so far I had to run to get closer to them in order to keep up the punishment.

I've been playing the Knights of the Nine quest chain after finally finding it from doing a bunch of other quests from the addons it came with. So far I must say, really fun stuff, I'm not running into tedious tasks such as destroying another Oblivion gate after the other. More info on my opinion as I progress.

Yes, I think I may have completed all the others and then found that Prophet to get started with the Knights of the Nine quest. Sounds like it's going to be fun.

It's a lot of fun, I beat it already, but then again I just blaze right through dungeons with increadable speed, usually one hitting every mob with +3 stealth damage from my bow

still took me about 5 hours, maybe I should crank up the difficulty level to make things even more challenging.

Yes, you should crank up the difficulty level for you.

I really don't get in a hurry when doing these quests. I try to find every crate, barrel, chest, Ayleid container -- you name it.

I also do every dungeon/cave/ruin plunder in Stealth using a combination of Bow, Magic Spell, Sword/Melee, Summon Creature....depending on whether they noticed me or not.

So far, I've acquired the Helm, the Cuirass, and the Shield.

I thought the Puzzle for the Shield was excellent!! and a lot of fun.

Um, where do you go to see the prophet again? I over heard some peeps talking about it, but was like whatever. I didn't pay it much attention. Least know I know why it didn't add the Knight quest.

Not really a spoiler as just about every person in the game will point you in the right direction but it's Anvil

this isnt a question on the mod

i have a question, how do you stop from looseing your horse shadow ????
when i first collected him lol i lost him for some reason

and couldnt find him again

also when he is dead or if he dies is that it ? is he/she perminently dead ?

You're talking about Shadowmere.

He will help you fighting and will often become unconscious. But, he won't die. What he does is attempt to return to Ft. Farragut where you got him.

One thing I try to do is to mount him right after a battle and rest. That heals the both of us and then he's not prone to leaving me for the fort.

Also, if you do a Fast Travel he will get stabled outside the city you fast travel to....or most any of the other places you can fast travel to.

I think I recall a mod that lets you "call your horse" or something like that. If I hadn't come up with some acceptable ways to keeping reins on him, I'd go after that mod.

Oh....also, there's a cool exploit! While he's unconscious, you can pack things on him just like you can a chest or a dead body. Then, you don't have to store all your heavy stuff somewhere else. The caveat is, you can only get to it when he's unconscious again.

Knights of the Nine, Completed!

I thoroughly enjoyed this well-written quest! Although it seems that the final battle was just too easy, it was still very well done and I'm glad I got this addon for Oblivion.

Generally speaking, one of the main complaints about the Elder Scrolls series is that the Big Boss fights are most often just too easy. I found that to be true in Morrowind as well. It's definitely a 'downer' when you've stocked up on Restore Health and Restore Magicka potions and then are able to whip the daylights out of the "big boss" like he's some whimp.

Sadly, that was pretty much the experience with this one, too.

But I don't regret the trip getting there!
