Anyone ever herd of "Red Orchestra"......?

The full game can be downloaded through Steam right now.Its a trial.When it comes out I guess U just install the game code to continue playing.Is it supposed to be a good game?

It's actually been out for quite a while. I suggest you start at www.redorchestragame.com browse the forums, the links, the videos, and decide for yourself. It's less expensive than a lot of games, so taking the plunge won't cost you much. Me? I am a bit prejudiced. I love it!

I didnt like it, seemed a little too complicated/ weird for me, steep learning curve when I tried it though others love the little details

I love it. It is a little bit more "sim" like than most FPS's. I am personally in it for the tanks.There are Tank only servers and get to have some great "Armoured Chess"Tanks are not just a one man operation(they can be but get a good driver/gunner combo and your a force to be reckoned with.

I tried it last time they had a free trial and was hooked and activated it the day the trial ended(And I had only really been playing infantry)
Give it a go if your looking for something a little more challenging then typical FPS fare

Edit: I COMPLETELY forgot about the physics!! Man Bullet tracers, tank shells bouncing of hulls of other tanks, arcing thru the air then landing in a puff of dust on the ground.The sound is pretty damn cool too. The sound of Arty in the distance(and wondering if its gonna land on you) Tank shells whizzing over your head(or the clonk of it hitting your tank)
When on foot the sound of bullets whizzing past you is enough to make you jump

originally is was a FREE add-on to unreal tournament 2004, as part of the "make
something unreal contest" ran by nvidia to promote the game. The one a place
and was awarded 1 million dolors. They took that and bought a license to the
unreal source and loaded their mod, modded slapped a price tag on it and put in
on and put it on shelfs and on steam.

I suggest playing the FREE ut2004 add-on before buying the game which is basically
the same but they did continue improving their mod as they did when it was FREE
obviously their game version will be better due to the contuenued updateing.

Red Orchestra was kinda weird for me. It was all real and nice and so on. But maps are very big and sometimes you just cant find any combat for a whole round. You can find it though, if you can call getting a HS from sniper a combat... It's really a camp game. Campers everywhere and so on. It's quite nice for a change but you'll get bored soon

HawgsHead asked for peoples opinions, and thats what people gave him. Whats the problem?
I tried RO once and thought it was the worst FPS id tried since AA.

Actually, the opinions of "I hated it" or "I loved it" are fine, the posts with false information by people pretending they know what they are talking about, who don't have or who haven't played the game are what upset me. Let's leave it at that.

i ll chime in, it is a great game and well worth the FREE download to try and decide, yada yada like said, steep learning..... and such, it is a helluva lot smoother all around compared to the mod and definatly more complete feeling. the mod won the make something unreal contest and won prizes totaling up to amillion dollars including an actual liscense to the engine (included in the million) to make their Game. complete access to engine, not just scripting or whatever modders get( i duno, i dont MOD) good change not the same BS with new skin
