Ok people of the UK how desperate are you for that PS3. Would you sell your own grandmother? Would you fry and eat your favourite cat? How about you let a joint collaboration of HMV uk and Sony shaft you deeper than a miners workplace.
I've just received this email from HMV allowing me to be one of the first people in the UK to be dry humped for the honour of owning not only a 4 month late console but also a portable games machine with a catalogue thats drying up faster than a raindrop on the sun.

For the UK I think it is a good offer.
In all fairness, you don't have to get it. If anyone wants a PS3 so much, he deserves to pay for this IMO.

Im curious (and im playing devils advocate here), do you feel (theoretically) if MS launched a new console right now asking people to buy a zune first to get priority, would you feel that is fine?

Just when you though Sony couldn't get any low...guess they are full of surprisses... But this was to be expected really, since they always threated Europeans like second class citizens of the world...first the delay, then the insane pricing due to "taxes/exchange rates" and now this, but i'm sure they can do better, or should i say worst?

The main problem I see here is that they are literally telling you: "Buy a PSP or your preorder might not come through". If you're ok with that, where do you draw the line? "Your PS3 broke? Buy 5 blue-ray movies and we'll fix it for you, otherwise please buy another PS3"

Depends on who is doing the asking. If MS, then I would feel it is wrong. If it was HMV, or any other retailer, then that would be fine with me. I wouldn't buy it, but I wouldn't say it is wrong either. Same thing with the PS3+PSP offer.

thats no worse then what compusa did here in the US for the ps3 release. you had to buy a sony 42in+ tv to be able to buy a ps3 from them.

So did you buy the 42 inch TV then?

I wouldn't buy to that HMV offer. I think it depends on how desperate the person is (to pay for the psp + ps3). Coz for me, I'd just wait until I could get my hand on the ps3. Not like the ps3 is very exciting.

But anyway, what's the point having a 4gb PSP? I swear when I had a psp I couldnt play a video clip over 200mb, coz it'll jus keep stuttering once you've watched more than 15 minutes (regardless of format).
