imo..

they look rather Halo 1ish or 2ish with a bit more effects.. course that single screenshot isn't at all anything to go by at all..

Some more would be nice...

If they can do a correct port over to PC while still sustaining full DX10 and FSAA capabilties, i should be content twith it.

Well, these pictures were taken with a camera at a TV screen and the res on them is 800x600. I think the game will look like an FPS version of Gears or anything else using Unreal 3.

I neverl ooked into it, but i'm not convinced at all that halo 3 is using unreal 3 engine, but i do beleive that it's going to be initially built apon the dx10 spec.. then just possibly most likely trimmed quickly down to what the xbox360 will handle and very well optimised for it. I think MS is probably going to do well Xbox360 and PC wise, i don't have high hopes, but i do hope they do well as i did enjoy Halo 1 a bit. Never have played halo 2 though.

microsft did come across as a big supporter for epics Unreal 3 engine from the get go and before xbox360 launched.

im pretty darned sure that halo 3 has nothing to do with the unreal engine.

that'd ruin the feel of the game completely.

Halo 2 was just as much an embarrassment to the series as Lockdown was to the R6 series.

Obviously, why are people expecting otherwise? I don't even have a 360 and never played Halo2 but it's a damn sure good bet the graphics in Halo 3 will be about as good as the console can handle.

Yep, One of the videos on XBOX 360 shows some of Halo 3, if you catch it on the monitor. Those pictures have also been posted on other sites.

IMO, halo 2 was a good game, aside from it taxing out the poor 733Mhz pIII, and the modified geforce3 card in it.

I don't really have high hopes anymore! I saw the trailers that came out and I am just not impressed with how it looks. I own the 360 and have Halo 2 and I can tell you I am not that big of a Halo guy but I am sure I will buy Halo 3 when it comes out just becasue if you own a Xbox you have to have it. So when your friends come over you don't get bashed for not having the "BEST GAME EVER!"...

I guess we will see some more real video/pictures when the beta comes out!

Why anyone even cares about this mediocre game series is beyond me. I thought Halo was meh at best.
