What is up with PC gaming..????

It seems as though nothing exciting{to me anyway} has come out within the last 6 months!We had Band of Heroes{or whatever it was.I still havent played it yet} and Episode 1.Am I missing something here?.....Thank God I baught my 360!

Yes, you are missing. There are many good games out for the PC man.
And even more coming out the next couple of months.
Unless you play flight simulators I guess.

Na Hawg, I totally agree with ya... PC Gaming is getting stale... There are good games, make no mistake but well, just not many.

I usually used to only review PC games because there were plenty to try and play but this year, my god has it been stale

I'm tired and can't name any other recent releases but theres tons I just don't have them installed.

Okay Medievil Total war is such a hate or love thing...

But okay, I agree and it was reviewed on GH.

Rainbow Six is on Xbox, as is Double Agent (and both run better and look better on it for me)

Supreme Commander is a fun game, and I agree and Warhammer 40k is a 2006 game...

Honestly, what's coming out on PC that's gonna entice me to upgrade my system? Crysis... And... Command and Conquer 3... And now I'm running blanks...

On Xbox? Forza Motorsport, Halo 3, GTA4, Mass Effect, Assasin's Creed, Fable 2, Colin Mcrae 6, etc etc.

I still love PC games, but the "great amazing exceptional" ones are starting to slow down. Imho, PC gaming has seen better years.

but I agree actually, seems to have been a lean time for PC gamers, although that may just be the percieved view on account of the recent rise of the console, no..?

The games have come in waves with 3-4 big releases usually appearing within days. While there hasn't been many big releases since November there were so many of them at one time that many were overlooked. The fact that the threadstarter couldn't even name Company of Heroes tells me he isn't exactly keeping up to date on PC game releases.

Sandok just because you don't have a good PC it doesn't mean there are no good PC games out now. If you even leave aside all the big names, there are plenty of other games too. For example UFO ET that is coming out next month, C&C3, and many many many more games.

Just because I said Double Agent runs better on Xbox? Well, it's sorta true (stabiliyt wise). And yes, there will be big names on PC but I just couldn't name many...

Anyways, it's the beginning of all three consoles (wii, 360, PS3) thus most developers will work on them for a while. It's the general cycle of games

But that's the thing. You are mistaken that there aren't many games coming out on the PC. Not having a good PC can mean you do not invest money or time to play, buy, investigate into teh PC gaming market. You have an Xbox360, and that is great (I have one too :-p ), but you are just plain mistaken if you think the PC gaming is not doing well.
2006 or 2007.
In case you do that, just look beyond the first page of major publications, online and magazines.
In fact there are too many (for my budget and time) PC games out, and console games.

The PC might not be mine but in the house, I do have a decent PC to run games (all the reviews, Stalker Analiysis vids, etc) are done on it so it's far from being "mediocre".

2006 was an average year for PC gaming, and the GOTY was a multiplatform game. I'm not the only one to find PC's getting less than perfect games nowadays.... Honestly, maybe it's my pickiness but the only games coming out on PCs are MMOs and I personally don't like em. From what I want and like (and I'm far far far from being picky), there isn't much. 2007 speaking!

Well now ive finally got supreme commander running well, im glad I stuck with it, its excellent.

Also the new demo of command and conquer 3 is pretty amazing on vista. then with stalker, alan wake, HL2 EP2 and others, it looks to be promising.

I guess if someone just likes FPS games, there hasnt been much out recently. Dark messiah is the last excellent FPS game I can think of.

I think 2007 will be a lot better than 2006..... good time now for the upgrade guys and for all of you who warez everything, PLEASE DON'T, its KILLING PC gaming.

And btw, considering how (personal opinion of ciourse) CRAP GoW is and how much it has been advertised as the game that is better than sex (not really, but you know what I mean) I doubt there are many or even few better games on consoles than on PCs. The whole thing is very very biased, if you prefer consoles or if a console is your main gaming platform, you tend to see things in a slightly distorted view than what realy is.

It's true on PC nowadays, you only have RTS, MMO and FPS to look forward to. And depending on your opinion, you'll either like that or hate that

I like shooters...especialy good WWII shooters...CoD type things,F.E.A.R....stuff like that.....And then theres Gears of War........HA!

I really think PC gaming is not as bad as people make it seem. I think this year is going to revive PC gaming.

Stalker is promising, I love the beta and all the titles Allan mentioned. Crysis alone is reason enough to upgrade the system (If I can sell enough of my organs to get the loot to do so). Spore is a game people seem to be forgetting. Add the plethora of MMO games, FPS',and the fact that many of the good console game come out on PC, and things are looking pretty good, IMO.

I hope so man, im afraid im one of the people who thought PC gaming in 2006 was pretty stale, sure there were some great games, but not really very many.
