Heavy Rain
http://media.ps3.ign.com/media/811/811232/vids_1.html
The video in the link is not exactly new, but I just stumbled across it again a few days ago. It still amazes me how lifelike the whole scene is. It might not have the highest polygon count, but the movements of the woman are as close to reality as you can get (IMO). And her facial animation is just out of this world. I'm interested in what you guys think. Does it look better than Crysis? (not in terms of effects but the overall quality) Why? Personally I'd say it does indeed look better, simply because it feels real. Edit: For those interested, the game is being developed by the same guys who made Fahrenheit (the adventure game)

Her face is disproportioned (mainly around the jaw and mouth). Like a crappy HL2 model. Also the skin on her arms and face look like plastic as well as having disproportional arms to the size of her body and head.
Her mouth moves to slow like she just recovered from a stroke and the accents just ruin the mood of it. They don't cary the emotion attached with the words and butcher it. The words do also seem too over-dramatic to fast. I like the idea behind it. Just wasn't carried out very well On a positive note the environments and the detail in the eyes were good. |

Not overly impressed to be honest, as demo's go it didnt scream out at me and I'm quite interested how the lighting effect was applied in the lightening scene, it was just a flat white render with a little glow on every surface, go back and pause it as the lightening flashes you'll quickly spot that odd things like the top of the kitchen drawers etc light up, kind of as if they'd simply filled all the black with white.
