I only took one SS before exiting the game due to lag problems. Apparently lots of people have the same problem where looking or moving to certain areas drops the framerate down to 1-2 fps. Hopefully you guys don't get that problem but if you do mention it so we can figure out how to fix it.

AFAIK when your frame rate drops it is not due to lag.

Uh, radar is pretty basic I guess. Different color dots and arrows tell you where objectives are. That dude in the pic isn't an enemy but cause I've got my gun out he's freaking out

Well after playing this game a bit longer i have to say that i have a pretty good idea what the guys were doing for over 5 years...drinking cheap vodka for sure...what a mess...

It's pretty much an unpolished game, when you add 5 years in the making and several delays, WTF were they doing. This game could be sooo much better if they had gone the extra mile and really polish it up, but, what you end up with is a pretty good bunch ideas that were poorly implemented. Shame really.

Actually I think an apt comparison would be Boiling Point, give this game a couple big patches and it would be a 9.0/10.

Please don't mention that buggy pos. Well, POS is a strong term, but...

Gamespot gave it 8.5 or something. Mentioned there are some bugs, and that the developers are working on them for the patch. The graphics looked good to me. I am not sure about the weapons though, since in the video I saw several headshots with 2-3 bullets and the target (human) still not go down.

No vista support makes me really sad

I can play Undying or Alice without any problems but this game just came out and it doesn't work with the new OS

They started on the game while Xp was still young so it doesn't surprise me there's no Vista support. I read that's the first thing they are fixing for the patch....which is due October 2008.

what do u mean no vista support?? i ve been playing the game running vista ultimate without a problem ,its running as smooth as butter,im finding hard to complete the tasks , like the one that u have to bring a monster`s tail or something like thah ,even though i set the task as active it wont give me the location of the monster.

A lot of people have been having problems with the game on vista and even the official forums only speak of vista support in the form of a patch. So I buy a game two months after the release of a new OS and I cannot play it. It runs great at max settings at 1920 but if I try to access the menu or try to save my game it just crashes. I could understand if it was a no-name game but this is Stalker! Everyone be knowing about it

You can pick it up with the "F" key and use the same one to give it to him

I'm not sure how to drop something but the one or two guys I've helped have been to give it to them through conversation. I think you just have to talk to the guy and select the option to give it to him. I haven't played much tbh, theres only so much I can get done without it crashing and me having to start all over again

ive been playing it for 2 or 3 hours now, and i dont know if i like it or not. the 2 things i absolutly hate so far is that the zone is not 100% open and exploreable. all the barbed wire fence and other obstcales seems to keep you in a very small area.

the other part i hate is the zone loading areas. being transported 50-60 feet away from the door you walked out of when the new level spawns and then getting shot in the back because the game spawned enemies behind you isnt much fun.

Yeah i hear it hasnt even been optimised for vista yet and will be fixed in a new patch. It crashes everytime I hit save in vista which is a lovely experience.

I wandered about in it for an hour or so without saving and I have to say i am disappointed with it. Not saying its a bad game but its nothing I would sit and play. Reminds me of oblivion in the future for some reason.

I've completed the game. Never had an enemy spawn behind me in loading area.

Anyways, you gotta love the AI. Retreating when you're aggressive. Offensive when you're pressured. Hard to get behind, hard to flank. Uses everything as cover.
