A new war is brewing

If you haven't read the topic at www.warp2search.net about HL 2 being compatible with only Nvidia cards, then go read it now.

Of course, this is only rumored so we don't actually know if it's true or not.

So will this start a new Nvidia vs. ATI war???

Will we see similarites to console games. Such as games only being released for PS2, and not on Xbox (GTA III) Or games only playable with ATI cards, and not Nvidia cards?

This could be the start of new war between the two companies for the rights to games.

What do you guys think?

Course its all over the net. It's a rumor. Let's jsut put it this way. Game company's want to make money. They want their games to be able to run on as many machines as possible so they can make this money. Unless their prepaired to throw what is it now almost 40% of the market ati has and just throw away 50 bucks per user in this market? Ha I think not. Nvidia's rich but not that dumb.

With over a million radeon9700's sold that's like 50 million possible dollars right there. That's how much I'd charge nividia to have an exclusive game.

But still, there could be real situations like this in the future. Nvidia and ATI will always do something to put themselves above the other.

Well, considering Counter-Strike is one of the top games... ever, and if they want a game such as this to be one of the top games... ever, then there's no way they could just use NVIDIA cards. Let's face it, Half-Life 2 is only going to be as good as the mods on it.

Half-Life 2 will actually be a great game all by itself. I can't believe you CS freaks are already talking about a CS for it.

There hasn't been a screensot, video, or even sketch of anything from HL 2. So I wouldn't start talking about mods for a game that hasn't even been seen yet.
