What the flaming hell was that!!!!! I had to watch it twice just to make sure I took it all in. I can't even begin to comprehend how that was made possible. I'm dumbstruck. Ehhhhh 177kb HOW?
Ok I need a lie down, it's actually burnt into my memory, I can visualise it in my head. I swear someday someone will manage to incorporate a powerful subliminal message into something like that and the dawn of zombies will begin.

It's amazing what a skillfull programmers can stuff into such a tiny file. It is also very resource hungry, it completely ate my video card's memory + 200 MB AGP memory and 560 MB of RAM.

this reminds me of something a couple of years ago, "a game in 96.6kb" or something like that
all textures were dynamically generated

farbrausch is an amazing group -- check out their other demos, they are by far the best on the scene.

I love it, this reminds me of the kind of technology Maxis is using with Spore I believe, dynamically rendering textures and such on the fly.
Awesome. |

and it ALL started with "The Project", a 64kb file that compared to that of at the time, 3Dmark

![]() i don't think the AA is working under vista x64 and 7.4 catalyst with crossfire. i wonder if the demo worked fine for them under vista, cause the performance is all over the place.

BTW, how does this work in the first place? Someone first designed the graphics, right?

if memory serves when the orginal The Project came out @ 64kb file size, all the programming is compiled, small amounts of it is self extracted, then using the computer programs itself on the fly, that loading bar the beginning is it extracting, and then programing itself from what i understood.

Yes, I'd say the content is generated during the loading phase. I found a Wikipedia article about this:

Wow, that was something else. It amazes me the things people can do. Makes me wish I knew anything about programming. I hope they have jobs in the games industry.

Cricketing term, like a home run for you Americans and your rounders....erm baseball
.Yeah running it on a loop sure gives the PC a good old burn in. I'd imagine this must stress both the CPU and GPU to the max so it would make a good program to confirm an overclock. |
