Star Wars Force Unleashed isn't really JK... I bet ya JK 4 will be out on PC, but this is an entirely new franchise that so far, isn't deemed worthy on the PC. Good thing or bad? Well bad for PC users of course but good for console users, given that it'll be made for them from day one (no crossplatofrming problems and all).

And I don't get people's anger and hate with EA (now Lucas). I mean, these companies are trying to survive and making great games on whatever platform they deem necessary and you hate them for that?

It's simple really...Xbox, PS3 and Nintendo will fight for these games but who's gonna fight for us PC gamers? Certainly not Microsoft, as they'd see $0 for a PC game but make a killing on overpriced 360 titles.

So what? If nobody fights for PC gamers, that's the industry's problem. Games cost more than movies nowadays, they need to be very very very profitable. PC games are pirated left and right, and the amount of people buying them isn't nearly as reliable as console owners.

I honestly don't see games like these coming on PC much anymore, given that only MMOs and RTSs are coming out on PC, and with good reason.

Hell, PC gamers wont 'fight' for themselves. They'd rather pirate games and complain about why the companies don't want to develop for their system of choice. If you think about it, PC's have the most market share, millions of people have one. Now either the devs/producers haven't take econ 101, or there is something fundamentally wrong with the PC market. My guess is the ever changing hardware landscape and the rampant piracy have something to do with it.

That seems the most likely answer, however, you'd think Star Wars games would be one of the few franchises that are immune to lagging PC sales. I thought all the Jedi Knight games sold well and the recent RTS games seemed to be popular too.

You don't pay 50$ for a movie for three very simple reasons:

A bad movie can still make TONS of money.
You can buy a DVD after the release and thus, they still make a profit.
You can rent a DVD after the release and thus, they still make a profit.

And Omega is right - this was the one series of games that should be immune to theses passing consoles. I have more consoles hanging around my TV than I have games for them. ??? When was the last time you saw a video game with a $200,000,000 budget? Movie budgets are astronomically larger than even the most expensive game budgets. Its not really an issue of representation; theres not like a union or something. Its more an issue with compatibility, control over sales, marketing, and absorbtion. Consoles are attractive on all fronts because vitrually everyone who owns one is looking to buy games for it. Its much more difficult to pirate console games; the systems were created with this in mind. Can't say that for PC's.

Now I'm all about PC games believe-you-me. But I'm just saying being a PC developer these days can't be easy.

This is also why we see so much emphasis put on multiplayer games for PC. Its really difficult or impossible to play a pirated game online.

Then why are console games so much more expensive than PC games? Less testing, less piracy, shouldn't this help to reduce the price for games on consoles? Or is piracy nothing but an excuse? This is not rhetorical, I do want to know.

Star Wars The Force Unleashes as far as I can guess, is not Jedi Knight 4, so I don't understand why the uproar about no pc version of it.

ANY games producer is going to make the game for whatever machine will make them the most money....its business....

I think it is now Nvidia's and ATI/AMD's (whatever the F they are now) responsibility to get these games on the PC. They are the ones that sell the hardware to run the games. If a good game comes out on consoles and not the PC, the GFX card makers are the ones who will lose money.

Nvidia and ATI should be sponsoring these companies to make games for the PC- it is in their best interest.
