Is GRAW a hard game to play or am I just that weak????

I'm talking the origional here.I have the 2nd one also but I figured I would get the 1st one and play it before I tried the 2nd one.OK,the 3 solders that are assighned to me.Do I tell them where to go & what to do or do they do it on there own?The Drone spy thingy...seems kinda hard to manuver.Any tricks?....much thanks!

You have to really be into squad based tactical shooters to consider these games less than semi-hard. That was my ex wifes nickname for me but that is another story.
Unless you want to take the time to learn how to maneuver and equip your squad depending on the current mission then you will not get very far. In that case you will consider the game hard and most likely not finish the game. This is what usually happens to me because these games are not my cup of tea. I find the easiest way to play and succeed is to determine the equipment, maneuvers, commands that I like and use the most and then assign those functions to the most commonly used keys. Sometimes playing these type of games are easier played with a gamepad instead of a keyboard and mouse. Right now I am starting RB6V and I am using a 360 controller and loving it.

It's extremely hard (at least on PC at normal difficulty) if you try to play it like any other FPS. The only way to play GRAW successfully is to utilize the correct combination of trial and error, commanding your squad so they don't get killed, and approaching every area of danger with extreme caution.

For example, even if you know there's 2 guys around the corner and you peek out to headshot them there's the possibility another enemy will flank you so have your squad covering you (even then they sometimes don't respond to enemy fire and die).

I found the whole thing too frustrating and didn't get far in GRAW SP. In Coop I got much further but it was edge of your seat going around every corner and trying not to take a bullet in the face.

I actually just picked the game up today and let me tell you I was impressed. I can't believe how hard it is on single player and it is frustrating. I also have to say man they worked pretty hard on realistic AI and game play.

On a side note there is a topic from the GR forums with a way to enable god mode if you give up. It works, but it makes the game alot less enjoyable at times, and at others a lot less frustrating.

Understatement of the week.

I never really got into any squad based shooters. Played Rainbow Six: Raven Shield because it came with my sound card, but wasn't really impressed by my squad AI. I mostly had them follow behind me so they wouldn't get killed, and would have to replay missions if I lost any of the squad members with good stats.

If I remember correctly you have problems with a lot of games. You should probably try rent games.

Its like buying them, but without the frustration when it kicks your ass.

If you want to get back at it just send it back to the store. I know those games really hate the store, especially the back room. You can, also tell them its not working properly and they will send it in or sand off its face.
