problem with dreamfall installer

So I got dreamfall and unfortunately it has some bugs in the installer. If your C drive has less than 6gb of free space, it refuses to install. Now I have a 10gb partition for my C drive which has my OS. theres no way it has 6gb of free space. I have 600gb of free space on my other drives, but that doesnt matter.

Can ANYONE help me out with this? Is there some sort of solution to this? Can I edit the installer to look at the D drive instead or something?

You will need to re-partition your drive really, use something like partition magic util so that you dont lose all your data.

Where is your temp folder located? Maybe it has to extract files to the temp folder and it needs lots of space.

my temp folder? I THINK it is on the D drive.

its a pretty well known bug with the game unfortunately

sighhh this blows. I really want to play but dude repartitioning is dangerous. it NEVER goes right for me.

Is there a good partition program with a FREE licence ANYWHERE!?!?

Im going crazy trying to find one...may break down and pay for software....

Hello, I've had the same problem when I had to install this great game and here is the fix (taken from The Longest Journey Forum):

"Go to Start -> Run:
Type RegEdit

Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion

On the right side is something called: ProgramFilesDir

*Write down the current path of the ProgramFilesDir, you'll need to change it back after install*

Change this value to a drive that contains 7+ gigs of space

Install Dreamfall

*Go back into the Registry, to ProgramFilesDir, and change it's value back to what it originally was.*

Whit this method, you'll have no more problem !

So, what do you all think of this game/sequel? I really enjoyed TLJ when it first came out but have been holding off on this one for various reasons/excuses.

I'm in chapter 7 now and being a great fan of TLJ, I think Dreamfall is in most parts a great game, with beautiful graphics and musics (top class movie score), but it isn't the same kind.

TLJ was a point and click adventure game, whereas Dreamfall is a modern 3D game with X-Box optimized gameplay, so it's kind of a bit disapointing.

It's ok to say this game has some bad points, but playing in the same 2 fantastic worlds and meeting some of the greatest characters too from the original game is so fantastic, I really enjoy this !
